About this item

  • 8 channel optocoupler isolation board is used when it comes to the need for isolation control and voltage conversion.
  • 8-way 817 optocoupler drive terminal signal voltage: 3.6-24V. Output terminal voltage range: 3.6-30V (output current depends on the specific situation but the maximum does not exceed 10MA, the total power is constant, the voltage and current are inversely proportional)
  • It can realize 3.3V or 5V to control the interface of 3.6-30V voltage . After the control terminal is turned on, the controlled terminal will also be turned on.
  • Photoelectric isolation has strong anti-interference ability. It can drive high-power triodes, MOS tubes and other applications that require high-voltage driving, and can also directly drive low-power 24V relays.
  • If it is a pulse signal, please note that the limit of 817 is 4KHZ or less. If the control signal is greater than 4KHZ, please do not use this module, it will not work properly.

It can realize low level driving high level and realize voltage conversion using this module, the IO voltage of the MCU can be graded to achieve isolated drive between different voltage levels
Through the selection of the jumper cap of each channel, it is possible to achieve separate control whether it is shared with the input. The jumper cap is shorted so that the negative terminal of the output terminal is connected to the negative pole of the powersupply(Gin the figure)
Each channel has an independent power indicator, which can be directly driven by the IO port of the MCU.The input terminal is5V high, and the 3-5MA current can be driven

APPLICATION:
MCU output level To drive the motor When the inductive device such as the motor is isolated, anti-interference protects the circuit of the MCU
The output level of the single-chip microcomputer is low, and the driving voltage of the driven module is high
For level matching, for example, some PLC input should have 24V voltage and can be converted by this module
For the inverter, the input signal can be inverted
Used for high voltage detection, for example:the output signal level of a sensor is12V
The voltage of the single chipis5V.This module can be used for isolation detection

Package include:
2 x PC817 8 channel optocoupler isolation board

NOTE:
The input port is shared with GND
The output ports are independent of each other
It is optocoupler output.V and G will be connected after input valid signa in input port

A very compact PC817 PCB design. The jumper allows for isolation between in/out. See schematic I came up with for it.

I often need to isolate circuits with different voltages. My last project interfaced 5VDC to 12VDC. These boards did the trick very well. I like the individual boards (instead of a single board with many optoisolators) , because I don't want to connect the Grounds of the inputs or outputs. The boards do contain jumpers for ground, but don't eliminate all the common grounding. Having multiple 2 channel boards allows me to do this fairly easily. The drawback is the multiple boards & wires laying on the desktop - but that's a minor issue. If you incorporate these boards into a final project, they take quite a bit of real estate. The optoisolators themselves are typical 817C IC's paired with a few 3K current limiting resistors and an LED that can be had for less that $2.00 total. Nevertheless, this card makes it easy to prototype, and construct simple isolation circuits.
