Product Description

motion sensor for socket

  • Do not recommend for a porch light taller than 10ft.
  • Doesn’t work on lamps with light shade because the shade blocks the sensor.
  • These motion sensor light sockets use INFRARED detection, and they don't work through glass or other obstacles.
  • Doesn’t work on the outside light, the glass enclosure of the exterior light will stop the sensor from detecting motion.
  • This motion sensor light socket must be installed in a vertical position. If the light fixture is oriented horizontally the sensor will be not as reactive as you would like.
  • Max load 60W. Not suitable for the LED garage light>60w. No work with heat lamp bulbs.
  • Its working temperature is rated at -20 to +40C (-4 - 104F).

Best for turning a regular light into a motion-sensing light!

Add motion-sensing capabilities to any existing indoor light socket with our Motion-Sensing Light Socket.

The E26/E27 motion-sensing light socket screws easily into any existing light socket.

What is the Sensor Range of this motion sensor light socket?

This motion-sensor light socket offers 360-degree motion detection and has a sensitivity range of up to 10 feet when mounted 8 feet above the floor.

The PIR motion light will light up automatically while the motion sensor detects motion in the detective range in the dark.

What Bulb can work with?

Designed to work with incandescent and fluorescent bulbs up to 60 watts.

Can not work with blubs more than 60W, please beware of this.

The motion light socket provides automatic, hands-free light operation and automatic shutoff that work in both day and night conditions.

What is the temperature I can use, can I use in the porch?

It is -4F-104F, and if the weather is too cold or too hot, may the sensor not work well, Please take care of this before buying!!!

Can I use this motion sensor light socket outdoors?

The motion sensor light socket holder may not penetrate the glass and walls to detect.

Please do not fix the socket into a closet lampshade or the glass shade will block the sensor. Can use it indoors only.

How to make the lamp adapter socket work?

Simply install an existing light socket (indoor only) and then screw the bulb into the fixture, no tools are needed.

Then your lamp will become a motion sensor light that can turn on automatically when detecting the motion of objects,

and turn off in about 10 seconds-5 mins after it no longer detects any object moving, avoiding wasting energy.

Motion sensor light socket TIPS:

  • Please make sure the motion sensor is facing the desired motion area with the proper distance and angle. If the room is too large, this socket may not suitable.
  • Make sure the 2-bulb spacing is more than 15ft.
  • When testing in daylight, please turn the LUX knob to the SUN position, otherwise, the sensor lamp would not work.

I use these for lights in the basement. They work perfectly. They go on as approached, and the time they are on can be adjusted. Very easy to use. Just turn in the same as a light bulb.

Some of the reviews were good some were bad. It seems the company responded promptly to the purchasers. I took a chance and was delighted. Took it out of the box, installed the bulb the product and it worked as described. Had it a couple of weeks and have no problems.

One of the two-pack works great. The motion detection is instant, and it stays on as long as I need. The second one made a popping noise the moment I put an LED bulb in its socket and only passes on a fraction of power to the bulb. Completely worthless. I'm glad that one works, as I only needed the one, but I definitely won't buy another from this company unless they improve their QC.Edit: The company reached out nearly immediately after my initial review and sent a replacement pair right away. The replacement pair works (no popping noises, and we have full light), but one of the two was still finicky with a couple of my lightbulbs. I had to work pretty hard to twist one of my bulbs in before I got power to the bulb with that particular motion-sensor socket. Once I got that little bit figured out, however, it's been working perfectly since. It's so nice to walk into the garage and have the whole space light up without me needing to fumble around for a switch or a pullcord. Upgraded from 2 to 4 stars for awesome customer service to get working sockets to me, not quite five since it's clear there are still some defects in the manufacturing process for these items.

My MB walk-in closet only had a cheap light bulb socket in the ceiling with an awkward string pull switch. I'd have to fumble for the string in the dark to turn on the light, which was annoying. With the new Alexa devices, I bought a smart bulb socket and connected it with Alexa. It worked fine and was easier than the string pull, but I'd have to tell Alexa to turn on the light in order to light the closet and then turn it off. Then I found this product. It screws into the light fixture the same as the bulb would or the smart socket, but requires no wifi connection because it's motion sensitive. It works great! I just open the door and the light turns on automatically as I enter the closet. The unit is adjustable to stay on from 10 to 60 seconds, according to your needs. Mine is set at 30 seconds, which is usually more than enough time for me to get what I want out of the closet. If I need more time, I just wave my arm in front of it after it goes off and it turns on again for another 30 seconds, but this is very infrequent for me. I think I've had it for about two years and it still works perfectly, so it seems to be very reliable and durable. It can use up to a 60 watt bulb, so it's plenty bright enough for my closet. I'm very happy with this product, and it saved me a lot of money over hiring an electrician to put in a light switch. I'd heartily recommend this product.

Oh boy, where do I start?Positives:- It detects motion- It turns on the lightNegatives:- Motion detection is slow and unreliable- Timing doesn't work linearly- Build quality- Build quality- Build quality- Instructions are basically useless- Build qualityOk, so super simple situation. Laundry room in a basement and stupid washer and dryer that have touch based, non illuminated power buttons. I actually had a smart bulb in this socket for a long time, but the automation side didn't really fit our needs and it wasn't great. I wanted to replace it with one of those garage lights that are ridiculously bright, but there's no smarts there.Enter this hunk'o'junk. Installation was easy, until it wasn't. How many people does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Ok, so I look at the instructions, useless. Pretty obvious, box says the time delay is "10sec - 5minutes", not the greatest. Let's try it out, I move the time dial to about half, so that should give me north of 2 minutes of light...wrong! Not only was it shorter, probably around a minute to 90 seconds, but it wasn't consistent. Sometimes I'd get 30 seconds, sometimes I'd get a little over a minute. The motion sensor is also really slow. Like, I get to the bottom of my stairs and have time to think "oh man, I think it's broken why hasn't it turned on" in my head, then it turns on. With the inconsistent, it shuts off while I'm actively moving around it. Continue moving, nothing. Continue moving, nothing. After 10-15 seconds, it turns back on.Now, check this out. There are 2 body sections to this unit and you can see that in the pictures. The dome PIR sensor is basically the dividing line. Above the sensor is one piece, below the sensor is another piece. Guess how they're connected. No, seriously, guess. They're TWIST LOCK. Guess how many times it split in 2 pieces. Every time. Who thought it was a good idea to design an intermediary for a light bulb with a twist lock body? No matter what, it's coming apart. Unbelievable that this was even part of the conversation in the design phase. It's such a stupid simple and cheap design, too. PIR sensor runs like $0.25 at retail, probably $0.10 wholesale. A simple switched circuit with a timer, the male E26/27 and the female E26/27, probably another $2 maybe at retail. The body is probably the most expensive part of the BOM and they botched it....BAD.Many other reviews say the same thing, unfortunately, there aren't a lot of options for this type of thing and sometimes people can be too picky. NOPE, those reviews are pretty generous looking back at them now.Needless to say, I'm returning this thing. Instead of an improvement, it's a massive detriment to the purpose it was bought for....or any purpose, really.
