Good quality, fully trust the construction. Definitely recommended. The paint is great especially.

Chains work great. Shackles are too large to thread thru links.

I had to help a neighbor transport his skid steer and he only had nylon straps. We used these binders on my tie down chains to ensure everything would stay in place in case of an accident or evasive maneuver. These binders are nice quality and have a good thick coat of protective paint. There are a few places where they didn't get much paint so that could begin to rust, but they are going to get scratched up anyway. The ratchet works well and is relatively easy to switch between directions of tightening and loosening. These hooks work with both 3/8" and 1/2" chain without issue. I haven't yet had a need for the additional hoods provided in the pack but they also appear to be nicely made and should be plenty strong for my uses.

The chains came as advertised with the large die cast hook on one end and nothing on the other end. The chain was advertised as 3' long, but it seems that it is even a couple chain links longer, see my pic. The yellow zinc plating is consistent throughout. I just wish that there was some type of hook or way to connect the two chains together without having to purchase something else. This was a tough review that I considered a 5 star review, but the lack of a way to connect the two together pushed it down to 4 star. However, in all fairness, it was not advertised to have any type of termination on the opposite end of the hook.

A while back I picked up a similar pair that are connected at the pear shaped ring. I use it for easy hookup when cutting trees and limbs and dragging them up to my burn pile or my firewood cutting area. They have been great and I keep them hanging on my hitch.Occasionally I have other uses where a single hook and chain is better suited or where multiple hookups, multiple pulls, and/or different configurations would save time and trouble. This set gives me everything I need for that. When not needed around my property having two of these allows me to keep one set in my truck and one in my van. I keep a lot of "just in case" items in my vehicles for emergencies for myself or others. I know what it is like to need help or want to help but just don't have the necessary means. We haven't had an ice storm in several years but long ago I stopped to help a motorist stranded in a ditch due to hitting a slick spot. I had a chain in my truck but the hook openings were too small to fit anything on his car. Fortunately for him it was a small car and I had a master lock. :) I used the Master lock to connect to his tow loop and hooked my chain to that. With one of these sets I should have what I need to help or what I need to get help. This is a well manufactured set to have on hand. Would be great for any offroaders as that is part of the thrill of offroading, the possibility of getting stuck. What can sometimes kill that thrill though is not having the means to hook up for a tow and/or having to crawl under a vehicle, often in the mud, to get hooked up.Great product. Great value.

This is a really good Jay hook set up, I operate a rollback wrecker service and received these two outfit another tow truck that I am working on putting in service the Jay hooks seem solid and strong and the chain seems to be high quality and has the schedule 80 stamping that OHP requires and also comes with a well put together set of keys( if you run a tow truck you know what these are and how valuable they are). The only thing I can find wrong with this setup is the red clevises that were used to put together the chain, jay hook, key assortment seems to be good heavy duty clevis material but is installed with quarter inch pins this seems a bit like duty for such heavy duty chain and hook so be careful when you're using it or just replace these all together before putting them in any heavy service. In my opinion these pens should be at least the diameter of the chain which is 5/16 of an inch. But honestly a couple of five sixteenths clevises are only a few bucks and at the price point of this assembly versus what I paid for the ones I have now out of a tow truck supply house I can definitely buy a lot of 5/16 clevises. Would definitely recommend purchasing this jade hook assembly!
