I've been using the 16"x24" cast iron cooking griddle for BBQ almost daily for an entire month, and it's been fantastic. I only use the flat top side because it has a convenient grease trap/tray, unlike the griddle side. The griddle shows no signs of rust or scraping, which speaks to its durability. After each use, I clean it thoroughly and before cooking, I apply a thin coat of peanut oil to the flat top. This helps maintain its non-stick surface and adds great flavor to the food. The griddle is solid and heavy, with even heat distribution making it perfect for searing, grilling, and frying. Overall, it's an excellent addition to any BBQ setup.

I always season my own griddles, but was kind of unsure about this one. However, just learning pellet grilling, I realized that I needed to learn more. My wife and daughter bought me a combo pellet and gas grill. My test came when I wanted to reverse sear a piece of Picanha that I had bought. I set the pellet side to 225 to get the meat to 125 degrees. As it was nearing the target temp on the meat, I fired up the gas side of the grill with this griddle inside (flat side up). I waited until the gas side hit 550 degrees and gently laid the Picanha into the griddle (which was reading close to 700 degrees itself). The result after 2 minutes per side was the most beautiful sear I’ve ever seen! This griddle really came through in the clutch! The heat was evenly distributed in the griddle surface, and it was a perfect fit for my combo grill, for either side (although I’m sure it will remain on the propane side). It gives me the confidence to try a brisket next. Reverse sear works great with this griddle!

Purchased this based in the size to fit in our sink for cleaning. Plate is very heavy and grilled steaks evenly on my outdoor grill. I use a grilling plate to avoid flareups and charring. This one checks all the boxes for me.
