Its not complicated to the average person - It reads temp and PH, or it doesn't.It feels "cheap" but all it contains inside the casing is a control board w/ a script and a bunch of solder points - So to be encased in a plastic housing is only to make it eye appealing and nothing more. If you expect more, choose a higher grade product w/ a higher price, and maybe it will have a machined housing.Instructions were lacking, but most people can plow thru and figure out the summary, including calibration. Calibration is super touchy, w/ instructions displaying a picture stating "SLOWLY" adjust the screw. Slowly resulted in no changes, so I had to jerk (?) the screw one way, maybe quarter turn, to see a change. Once in range, I resorted to "slowly".I purchased this model for the power cord. Oddly enough - It won't turn on w/ the power cord. Be it the jack on the circuit board or the actual power adapter I couldn't say. But if the unit is on (battery power) and I plug in the cord - OFF - And it won't come on. Tried removing batteries for straight wall power - No. Tried all sorts of ideas, but no wall power. Either way, there's no power. 1 star dropped for this. Batteries will do at this price point.The display is well defined and simplified. PH and temperature in C/F. But I cringe at the back light. Its green. Like the circuit board green. I understand that green is the best contrast for black display characters, but with all the advanced electronic gizmos out there it would be nice to have blue or any other color than green. That takes me back to the 80's w/ CRT monitors and DOS. (lol)The hardware included what I believe to be a mounting bracket, with little locking slides and 90 degree angles. But, I'm not even sure it's for mounting the display, or that it's even a mount. There is a velcro strip included however. Instructions didn't mention the mounting options. Kind of just left it up to the user to figure out.Overall, at this price point - This is a solid, very simple monitor for mainstream use. If you can respect it for that - It will serve you well. In my case - An aquarium - My PH aligns w/ the test kit colors, the temp aligns w/ the other temp readings. But I use the readings as reference only, and that's all they are meant to be.

Not the least expensive, but worth the extra money. I use it for checking the pH in my aquarium. It stays calibrated for at least 2 weeks. Recalibration is quick and easy.

This is my second purchase of one of these ph meters, it’s not completely in place, but calibration took a few seconds. I was a bit dismayed this time to see my probe had arrived with no cap on it, but after an ro wash, it calibrated on the first solution and matched the other two exactly, and holds steady. My first unit I purchased almost a year ago has been tested a few times but hasn’t really needed adjustments on the calibration, I keep it mounted continuously in my main tank for quick co2 monitoring. Everything hooks up easily, they supply batteries for backup or use unplugged, but I use the supplied wall plug so they always stay on for me. As for calibration, you want to use pure water, like distilled or reverse osmosis, and 250ml is about 1.05 cups give or take, makes it a lot easier to get it close.Overall, I’m extremely happy with my purchase and these products, and I definitely plan on buying more!

PH probes can't be dried out or they become inaccurate. It might be possible to revive them but you should not have to do that on a new probe. The probe that arrives with this device was completely dry with no cover on it at all. I tried to calibrate it with actual calibration liquid not the powder stuff provided and while not completely wrong it definitely was not where it should be. This is a bigger problem because this device only has a 1 position calibration screw instead of a 2 position. So I was not able to get it accurate throughout the range. Luckily I already bought another probe that comes wet and got much better results.Temperature probe while I would have liked a removable PT1000 appears to be quite accurate.It being battery powered as well as wall powered is really nice.In conclusion this is a really nice meter as long as you plan on getting a better probe for it.Display light stays on.Calibration powder is a nice valve add but keep in mind it isn't going to be as accurate a real calibration liquid.Improvements I would have liked.- Probe arrives wet- USB C Powered. Would have allowed you to power it from a large battery bank.- AAA battery instead of coin cell- Removable PT1000 temperature probe- 2 position calibration screws- Display LED on/off button to save power when on battery

This thing is a piece of junk. It will not calibrate accurately at all. I tried to calibrate with 3 different calibration solutions 10, 7, and 4 and it is not even close to accurate.First I calibrate it to calibration solution 10 after thoroughly rinsing and drying the probe. I then proceed to calibrate it to solution 7.0 after rinsing and drying and it's off by .27 when placed in the 7.0 calibration solution. So I calibrate it to solution 7.0 thoroughly clean and dry and go back to solution 10. Off by .17. I recalibrate to solution 10 and then test calibration 4. Off by .19 This thing will not calibrate properly at all. Do not trust this monitor at all it is not accurate.I am lucky I have not killed everything in my reef tank trusting this piece of crap.
