Very happy with this combo monitor. Monitors the important info needed for hydroponic setups, ph,ec,temp, humidity. All readings agree with other testers and it updates quickly. The smartlife app hookup is smooth and includes data logging and either a time based or interval watering setup. very happy with this device.

My older cheaper unit worked okay but wasn't always accurate and stable in readings but gave me a reference point. I paid much more for this unit, but it's been four years since I bought my last ph/ec monitor, so I expected to pay more, but I wanted one that was more accurate and stable and so far, so good.

I read the instructions, got it set up and calibrated it all in 15 minutes. Very easy to calibrate and super easy to use. The measurements are precise, and the system itself is lightweight and comes with all testing solutions and the solution to keep the probe working properly. The cost for the high-quality meter I received was very nice.

If you are growing any kind of plant in a hydroponic system, you probably know how rapidly the parameters of your water profile can change. When you are just getting started, learning which and how to monitor and adjust those parameters is a crucial task. This usually necessitates using the various tools like pH paper, conductivity tests, etc. and the various to periodically test the water, then mitigating any problems that you find, and then testing again (and again). As you get better at a grow, you will find that the more data you have over time, the better you can get at responding to any factors before they become a problem. At some point you start to realize that although there is some aspect of an art to the process, it is really a data intensive activity. Trends are important to recognize! Having some method to automate data gathering makes the process much less stressful. This continuous monitor is something that I have been on the hunt for for some time. You can really break the bank with this type of capability - however, is have found the functionality and value of this monitor to be relatively good. As you probably noticed in my photos, I have a variety of different methods to test water parameters. As in any any type of science, a single measurement is only a guess, and two is interesting, but three is where you really get useful information. I didn't happen to take any photos after I calibrated the sensor but, using distilled water and verifying the pH and EC, all of my testing implements agreed to within a very small margin. Having this new, constant monitoring system should simplify and improve the accuracy of my setup and allow me to better understand how to tweak my setup. Hopefully that means I will eventually have better yields for the various vegetables I grow. Like anything, it is an optimization problem that I am constantly learning about. And, really, the coolest thing about hydroponics is that I will have exponentially more growing seasons - since I don't have to wait for spring!FYI - I did not download or install the accompanying app. To be perfectly honest, I just do not trust most of the apps coming out of Shenzhen. This has nothing to do with the individual vendors - who are ostensibly simply trying to make a living. However, the system that they operate in means they are beholden to their government. Further, if an app is compromised and it is discovered to be malicious, these companies have very little reputation risk because they will just sell the items under a different name. I take digital security very seriously. That said, I will probably figure out how to pull the data down myself by either using a an old (sandboxed) phone, or by reverse engineering the system.Bottom line: I think this is a really capable, little setup and a good value for any indoor grower. Keep on top of verifying that it is giving you good data (AKA: calibrations) and your plants will be happier and will reward you!

This is an excellent little monitor for aquariums or (in my case) hydroponic garden uses, as well as other uses where you might want a constant monitor of your water quality and conditions. It's accurate and well-made, very much worth the price, and the app you can connect it to is thankfully easy to work with and very simple to manage once you figure out how it works. The monitor works simply by submerging the bottom part of the probe and plugging it in, then connecting to the app. It can measure TDS, pH, EC/CF, temperature, and air humidity, and it even comes with the fluids you'll need to calibrate it yourself. The probe is a bit large, I don't think I'd recommend it for something as small as an 'aerogarden' for example, at least not the small ones. You'll want to plan for a probe that's about 1 inch across by 4 inches long, and you can't push it through a smaller opening than the plug on the other end of the wire. You can in fact just leave it disconnected from wifi and only use it by looking at it in person, as the screen can shows everything you might want to see. With that said, unlike many wireless devices I've tried recently, this app works well and is pretty seamless, once you figure it out. You can even set up wireless alerts to send you a notification if something reaches a certain threshold, like if the pH drops too low or the TDS raises too high, for example. Those aren't features I usually need because my own garden is in a spot I walk past frequently, but it's a useful feature on vacation even.Initially I wasn't very impressed by the hooks, but they actually work well, and you can push them in either on both sides or in the designated slot if you just want to use one of them. They do a good job of holding the unit up and they don't get in the way very much, but again, if you're planning on using them for something smaller like an Aerogarden, then you'll have to find somewhere nearby to hang it.Overall, this is a great water quality tester, and I highly recommend it.I only review things that I personally use myself on a regular and continued basis. I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review. I will not hold back or avoid describing any issues I have with a product. I write exactly what I think about things - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the questionable. If I get multiple of something it's because I regularly use and need both of them. And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected.
