I purchased this for my boyfriend as a gift before his BJJ competition.He is 6’3” and around 155LB and typically wears a medium in boxer briefs.Based on the size chart and his boxer size, it told me to get a medium. However when they came in, the medium looked too large (and ended up fitting too large). So I ordered a small as a backup and it fit great!

Boxing Honey Badger 2-in-1 BJJ Shorts with Built-in Compression Lining: Grappling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MMA, No-Gi Shorts...What I like:The fit is very comfortable and the sizing is accurate. I'm sort of an in-between size. My typical pant size is Men's 36, but sometimes a 37 would be a bit more accurate, but that size doesn't exist to my knowledge. I definitely can't go with a 38 in anything, as it's too loose. That being said, I ordered this product in XL and it fits well enough that the shorts don't try to sag or fall, even without tying any strings, etc. Also, the XL is not overly-tight or constricting for my waist size.I haven't yet washed the shorts, so I cannot comment on how well they may or may not hold up to washing.I'll always prefer 100% cotton garments for the breathable nature of quality cotton, but I don't regret ordering these shorts, as they breathe surprising-well for being a polyester/Spandex blend.The shorts seem to feature quality and durable stitching.While not overly-flashy, the shorts feature modest labeling that is visually appealing.These shorts offer good freedom of movement and are fairly non-restricting in that regard.What I don't like:If the shorts had more of a diamond-shaped stitching pattern in crotch area, the freedom of movement would be improved, but it's still good.I would order this item again.

The first and most important thing I think you should understand about these shorts is that they are MMA fighting shorts. They're made for this style of fighting as well as similar styles of fighting. That being said, they're not going to fit like a standard, relaxed pair of shorts. This kind of caught me off guard when I first wore them because they fit pretty tight in the waist as well as the leg areas. Because of the way these shorts fit tightly, they're not comfortable for sitting around in lounging, but they're also not intended for that. I believe that they're intended to be worn during intense fighting sessions or work out sessions where the shorts actually need to fit somewhat tightly so that they do not accidentally start to move out of place. If they did start to move out of place, that would be a very negative thing having to try to adjust them in the middle of a fight.If you were to zoom in on the pictures on the Amazon listing, you'd see that these shorts Hhave a couple different material types that they're made out of but two in particular that I want to point out. The first material type is a very strong not so flexible material that is on the front and back of the shorts. This material keeps the shorts from tearing easily. The second material is a thin piece of flexible material that connects the front and back of the shorts in the leg area, but allows the shorts to have the right amount of stretch when needed. This is a genius design for these type of shorts.One more thing that I'll mention is that I like the length of these shorts. They are still a pretty short pair of shorts, however because of the compression lining they appear to look like a longer pair of shorts while fitting comfortably like a short pair of shorts.You should also be aware that there is a drawstring on these shorts, but there are no pockets whatsoever. On these types of shorts, I wouldn't actually want to try to put anything in the pockets if there were pockets so not having pockets is not a bad thing, in my opinion.

These Honey Badger shorts are super nice!I ordered these in a size medium for my husband (for reference, he's approximately 5'10, 175 lbs.), as he practices Muay Thai. The exterior fabric seems to be a high-quality, durable material, along with the interior compression lining. The slits to the exterior shorts allow for ample mobility and are less restrictive than the shorts he lifts in - a plus for anyone engaging in combat-style sports. Overall, these are great shorts at a fantastic price - 5 stars!What My Overall Rating Means:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Chef’s kiss, the cat’s meow, the turtle’s shell, you know, all the great things!⭐⭐⭐⭐- Pretty darn good, but it’s likely missing a little something.⭐⭐⭐ - It’s alright. This product has a major flaw or irredeemable quality.⭐⭐ - Not for me. This product has multiple flaws or irredeemable qualities.⭐ - This lonely little star means, under no circumstances, can I recommend this product.

I liked the material and the fact that it has compression shorts underneath but what gets me is the waist. The waist seems loose. I like tight compression shorts and tight shorts over to keep my cup in place when training MMA. If the waist is loose then it makes my shorts fall lower and lower when my partners drill takedowns on me.
