When I get hardware from Amazon for the Vine project, it is not enough just to look at it and say, "yup, it's hardware". I test it. In this case, I make sure that the inner threads were smooth and turned easily. Indeed on all three sized randomly chosen they did so. Then I also test the strength of the item to how easy it is to destroy the item. There's nothing worse than getting a nut or a screw that easily breaks or shreds. In this case the first thing I did was just take the wing nut and put it between two locking plier and tried to bend it. All three held up well. Then I put them in an steel anvil and gently, then firmly and then destructively started to hit them with a hammer until I saw how much force it would take to either deform them or pop them from the anvil. In all three cases, they "popped" from the anvil with only minimal deformation, which is a pretty good feet considering their wingnuts! Not much to say about these wing nuts other than they are just what I need to mount my scroll saw onto a flip top cart in my small garage workshop. I have been using 5/16 x 18 a lot lately for some home made jigs and hold downs as they are more robust than the standard 1/4 x20 bolts. I have a scroll saw that I needed to mount to the flip top but it is engineered so strange that you can't get a wrench in the space given to tighten the bolts to mount it. So, I used the bolts on the other side and used these wing nuts to hold it in place. There is no chance of it coming loose because the casting of the tool will not allow the wing nut to turn. To make a long story short, it worked for what I needed it to do.These are very nicely finished wing nuts in gloss black. The threads are very clean and worked great with my 5/16 x 18 bolts. I only needed two for now, but I am sure I will have a woodworking jig that I will need these for later.Very handy to have in my 5/16 bolt collection and I can recommend them.....

This is pretty decent quality hardware and it is super handy to have an assortment like this around the shop when you need it. If you had to buy these in those little plastic bags at the big box store you would pay 5x this price easily and the quality would probably not be as good. Very happy with this set. The case arrived in one piece without issue. I like the black finish on these so they don't stand out as much.

These wing nuts kit seems to be well made and it does fit as it should so far without any issues. Not sure yet ow durable they are and if there will be any rust showing up any time soon, but for now all is well so I would recommend them.

This is a good set of (15) 5/16-18 coated steel wing nuts. The threads are nicely machined and the winged sections are well proportioned to the threaded body.Each wing nut screws on and off with little effort. You can give them a flick once engaged and they will practically run themselves down.The coating seems fairly thick to protect the nut but poses no issues with loosening or tightening.Overall, I'm happy with these and they are a good value for 15 pieces.

I got this to screw under the bottom of my foldable metal slat beds as the wing nuts that normally go with the bed got lost during moving. I wasn't sure of the size I needed so I got a variety pack. The 1/4 inch was the size I needed but unfortunately, only 6 of those were able to fit, the rest did not screw all the way which makes me think this is a quality issue with the sizing since the other 6 worked fine, the rest of the 14 leftovers did not fit. Will have to try my luck with a different product. 3 stars because the ones that did fit look super nice and blend in very smoothly with the black metal frame; in fact they look so much nicer than my original silver wing nuts that came with the frame. The actual screws are very nice and durable, and there was no peeling or any rusting. I just wish the sizing was more consistent.

I got my last stash of wing nuts from a discount hardware store and I had to recycle all of them because they weren't tough enough & broke every time I used one. I got these specifically to use on a collapsible walker so that it can be semi-disassembled to fit in an aircraft overhead bin. These are a much better and haven't broken yet. The black finish is an additional bonus since it matches the rest of the walker.The only thing that concerns me is that the nut section that has the threads isn't very long so there isn't much thread-to-thread contact.
