My old mailbox post was slanted and rotted wood, and the mailbox on top was wobbling and barely holding on. Replacing it with this was a no-brainer and was so easy to do! Took a couple hours since I wanted this buried in dirt instead of installed on concrete/porch/etc. but the actual set up for this is incredibly easy. Matching mailbox on top was easy to install and looks great together.

This is a pretty short post. They must think you're going to mount it on a 6 inch or higher curb. They need to offer a taller post. Most people are going to need at least 36 - 42 inches for a useable post. Other than the height issue it's built well enough. Comes with some mounting bolts. There is a top and bottom to the post. The smaller holes are the top. You may have to enlarge the bottom holes, depending on how you secure it to the anchoring structure. If you use the supplied anchoring bolts you'll need to bore out the holes slightly. I also added "3D" numbers to the sides, so it didn't look so plain.

Solid mailbox post. Rock solid when mounted to a concrete base. Heavy and high quality. Finish is nice and should hold up for years. Easy to install. Perfect height. Great price.

Mail box post is made from galvanized steel then powder coated to protect post from the elements. I had to drill holes in the mailbox so it would fit the holes in the post. Post is straight and looks good with the mailbox. Much better than my old wooden post.

This mailbox post matches the specs and looks exactly like the picture. The top and bottom plates are 3/16" steel plates, each with four holes predrilled in them. There are concrete anchors included in the box for the bottom. The square steel tube isn't exactly measurable, but my guess is that it's 1/16" thick. That should be plenty to keep the mailbox upright but not injure someone if they crash into it with a car (postal requirement these days). It's continuously welded on both sides. The top and bottom plates have a slight curve to them that should come out when everything gets bolted up.The finish is a smooth black. I'll call it satin. It's not glossy and not quite matte.

This is a nice posts. It was much shorter than I thought it was going to be, even with the taller sized mailbox. We were able to make it work, but I also didn't use it on concrete so the whole install was a full on project. But, unlike my wood one, I don't have to worry about it rotting.
