Magnet was a huge let down! Not very strong at all, I had smaller magnet which have stronger holds. Have tried using multiple times in lake and river by my home and sadly I catch more with a smaller less powerful magnet. The steel casing around the magnet reduces and blocks a lot of the active surface.

My son who I purchased this gift for went out to a bayou with his son and tried it out. They caught a shopping cart! They had a great laugh and look forward to trying it again.

I bought this for my son who is 12. But really I wanted to use it! I told my colleague about it and he bought one for himself as well. Works great. Perfect amount of rope. Love that has two areas to screw into the magnet.

The grabbling hook that came with was rather small so I got a bigger one...have not used the magnet yet but I am sure it will work ok...

Here’s a honest review. The box this comes in is janky for sure. The latches are garbage. They don’t have a distinct “click,” ensuring a secure closure. Other than that, the storage box is fine. It’s kinda nice having a dedicated storage box for the magnet.The treble grappling hook works well enough. It’s light duty for sure! I imagine it could support a 200lb dude in some sort of incognito wall climb, or attach to some behind enemy lines barrier. I was a bit disappointed by its lack of obvious sturdiness.The included rope is OK. It works well for close proximity throws. If you’re going to huck this thing off a tall bridge, don’t! Get a longer, and stronger rope.The magnet…this thing is pretty amazing. Be careful what you stick it on. You may have a tough time getting it off. Example: my son neglected to observe the bridge we were on was steel. As the magnet was swinging as he was pulling it up, CLANG, it stuck…well. It was a chore to get it off. That being said, if you manage to not get it stuck to the steel structure you’re on, and you score a metal treasure, rest assured the magnet will remain attached until you bring up your booty!Now go get some treasure!

Bought this for my hubby and he was delighted with the whole package. Very useful carry case to keep everything together. A powerful magnet too and handy grappling hook. I just worry about how much junk he will catch and bring home.
