I was surprised at the power of this little welder. I tried a 3/32 electrode and this welder can easily handle a 1/8 electrode. Easy start ups and no loss of voltage. One electrode after another, no issue.

The welder is very easy to use. I had my 13 year old learn to lay a straight bead. It does stick little but once you get it going it's nice on 110v. It kept tripping 15a breaker so I tested the amp draw at work with an amp clamp. It peaks at 23 amp and drops down to 5 with a 3/32 rod. I have not tried it on 220v. So I'm going to run a dedicated 25a line to run this welder at home for small projects.

This is a neat little welder. Probably doesn’t actually reach 250 amps as claimed, but I was able to burn some welds into 1/4 inch plate I used on my trailer for a winch plate really well on about 200 (220v). The cables do feel cheap but it’s $84 what do you expect, they work. I ran straight through about 8 rods and it never overheated. My rods don’t stick as bad as my buzz box when starting, so I assume the hot start works as it should. I won’t be dragging out the buzz box anymore, not when this little lunch box welder performs like that.If you’re looking for a miller quality welder for $84 this isn’t it. If you weld 50 hours a week this isn’t for you. But if you need a cheap welder that does a pretty dang good job and burns hot, this is the one for you.

the adjustment dial to set the digital readout is finicky. also i ran it on a 120volt 20amp circuit and it worked but tripped the breaker often, really needed a 30amp circuit. Also the welding lead is way to short. BUT it is super light, very compact and does work and is amazing for the price

This little dude, and I do mean little cuz its small, performs well beyond my expectations. I have only used it on a 110v 30 amp circuit with its output set at minimum 30ish amps and at a maximum 125 amps. At 125 amp it didn't break a sweat welding two pieces of 1/4" plate mild steel about 12" long together with 6013 5/32" rods. I'd say this machine is perfect for any hobbyist or weekend warrior. Only thing I cannot attest to is how it holds up to constant use. I have, however, burned through a lil over 1lb of those 6013 5/32" rods on 3 different projects over the course of about 2 - 2.5 hours and never once did it shut off as the manual says it will when the duty cycle limit is reached.I say "HELL YEAH YOU SHOULD BUY IT!!" to anyone looking for a small, portable, reliable (so far), and user friendly welder.
