Very nice hardware. Stainless fasteners are "sticky". I always use thread lube w/ ss. The threads are very accurate and well formed. 5/8 wrench for the 3/8 size.

I am currently working on several outdoor furniture projects. The nuts were selected to protect the slightly protruding through bolts that join parts. The product description indicated that cap nuts are made of stainless steel which should withstand the outdoor use.

These 3/8-16 acorn nuts have a 5/8” hex, this is heavier than the 9/16” you’d expect for this size acorn nut. Correspondingly, the body diameter is about .59”, the standard for this size nut would be .53”. The height of the nut is .625 which is the norm for this thread size. This gives these nuts a bit of a husky look.Thread depth can be a problem when using acorn nuts. Normal engineering practice suggests bolts should protrude at least 1.5 times the bolt diameter in order to fully engage a nut. For a 3/8-16 acorn nut the normal thread depth spec is drilled to .45” max with a minimum fully threaded depth of .38. These nuts measure well over that, I measured .510” of max bolt penetration.Since the dims are a bit non-standard you’ll want to keep these separate from other 3/8-16 acorns you may have, but I really like the look and the extra thread depth worked perfectly for my application on these caster mounts. 5 stars for this excellent value in stainless acorn nuts.
