Seems like the spring mechanism was broken from arrival. Could never get the handle to retract the spring, sadly not high quality build/product and I still sit with a clogged kitchen sink after multiple pass through a with this product. Def disappointed and now I gotta come out of pocket for a plumber. Ugh.

Tiny spot weld failed on first try. Will try to return so we'll see how that goes.

My husband was looking for an auger with a more flexible end to get around unknown fittings/angles and came across this auger. I ordered it in the evening and had it the next afternoon. WOW! In under 10 minutes he had the clog cleared that had eluded him for weeks. This was his third auger but the flexible funnel/ball type spiral cutter head was THE gamechanger. It easily maneuvered around the bends and through the trap. The reason for the 4 stars is it actually took two attempts due to a permanent kink in the cable and had to work to get it past the 22.5' mark to get it the rest of the way down the drain. Disappointed in having this cable defect in an otherwise perfectly good auger. He was able to do what was needed to be done but not sure if this would have or will in the future cause issue with navigating through the pipe and or trap due to the kink in the cable if more cable is needed. This time the kink was high up in the pipe next time I may need to go further. Also, in the description it states that the cable is retractable. Unless this was another defect, it had to be manually pushed back into the case. The bottom line is that it cleared our clog for under $40 versus having a plumber come out starting at $350. So that alone was worth the money. They also threw in some freebies which was nice but I would have preferred QA to have an auger come as it should with a straight cable. All-in all I would highly recommend this particular auger due to the end and flexibility and not waste my time with augers that are not flexible.

The quality was great and easy to use. Glad I didn't rent one. For a little more money I was able to purchase one and have it available for next time I need to use it.

I actually used this to clean out the primary line of my air-conditioning condensation. The last time I had this done, a professional charged me over $300. This is actually a better fix and will last for several years prior to needing more maintenance.

It's homeowner grade and that's all needed. I ran it down a drain that has given us trouble for a year, I'd use Drano and it would run slow for two weeks or a month and then stop back up and then more Drano and repeat. I took of the p-trap off and ran it down about 10 ft and hit something, I started turning the crank and it started going through it and in about 20 turns I felt it go all the way through and just pulled it in about 2 feet rapidly for maybe 20 times just to try and get it all broke up. I ran it all the way through the rest of the pipe as far as it would go but didn't hit anything else that I could feel. As I pulled it out I'd pull a couple feet and run it in and out a few times and repeated until I pulled it all out. This is not a super heavy duty pro product but for a homeowner like me that will use it 5 times and lose it or someone will "barrow" it never to be seen again this is a great product.

The package contains everything you need to clear a drain, from a basic plastic drain snake, to a pipe cleaning wire, to the drill attachable 25-feet drain snake. Recommendation is to use a cordless drill. I used my dewalt impact driver/drill and kept the rpm's low by only lightly pressing the trigger.Popped the shower drain cover, and fed the drain snake in, pressing trigger to rotate it occasionally, until it met resistance. Then pressed drill trigger for a while to rotate and grab all the hair plug. Pulled out, cleaned out the hair plug, then put it back in. No more blockage, no more resistance. Shower drain is flowing again. So easy and simple.Small feedback for improvement is some kind of way to more securely attach the hex to the drill, like a magnetic end. It is not magnetic so then the attachment slips off the impact drill easily. I guess I could use a drill with claws instead, but it's fairly common for people to have a cordless hex drill/impact driver.

Used to snake a clogged septic. Appreciated the gloves that were included. Had a power feed that pushed the cable out then back in. I used my battery powered drill but has handles so could do by hand. Don't think that would have been easy tho.

I never leave reviews but this one deserves one. Make sure you set your drill to the lowest setting in the highest torque setting. Take your time go slow. The snake self feeds. This tool is a lifesaver. It unplugged a drain from a clean out in just a couple minutes. I struggled for over an hour yesterday with a different type of snake which wouldn’t make the bend. If you go slow, the self feed will navigate its way through the pipes. I’m so happy I made this purchase. I didn’t have to call a plumber, which would’ve been five times the cost of this. If you’re on the fence, don’t beat by it now.

I was desperate to clear the clog in my tub drain. Didn’t want to call a plumber. The plunger was not working anymore so i bought this kit. It’s fantastic. Great instructions on the snake. I couldn’t feed the snake down the drain because of the insert that divides the opening into 4 sections. So I took the cover off of the overflow and fed the snake down that way (thanks YouTube) the whole process took 7 minutes. Absolutely clear now. There are other unclogged things in this kit. I’m pretty confident that this kit has everything I will ever need in a diy drain situation.

This tool allowed me to unblock a clog in a bathroom sink, and as another review said, it did pay for itself in that way. However, the build quality is horrible. The trigger that locks the cable for extending/retracting by rotation is not spring loaded so by default it is in an in-between state. To release the cable fully and feed it by hand, you must actively push the trigger forward. To lock the cable and feed/retract by rotation, I had to squeeze extremely hard to keep it from slipping with the drill, so hard that I was having to take breaks and switch hands to keep the trigger fully depressed for the twenty minutes or so it took to run the cable all the way out and all the way back. On that note, the trigger action should be reversed such that you squeeze to release the cable, but the default is locked so that when you are cranking/drilling one coil at a time, which takes much longer, you can relax the hand holding the tool's handle. Lastly, the most unacceptable thing is that, as another review mentioned, the axis of the hex bit that goes into the drill is misaligned with the barrel of the tool by two or three degrees. This means that when running a drill, you have to fight a wobble in each hand that becomes more unmanageable the higher you rev.
