PREVENTS SAGGING POND AND WATER GARDEN DECOR
If you don't want a sagging or leaning water feature, then use this heavy duty grate to keep it upright and level. The sturdy, self supporting platform made by Structural Plastics Corp. requires no additional supports for most water features. It is commonly used to cover water basins or reservoirs that support bubbling rocks, vases, pottery or imitation rocks. You can also use this black grate to construct a pondless waterfall or different pondless water feature.
NOTE: If the platform is used to support any item weighing over 75 pounds, then cinder blocks should be added beneath the platform's center, allowing the grate to support almost 1,000 pounds.
GREAT SIZE FOR A VARIETY OF USES
The hard PVC platform is about 16 inches wide, 36 inches long and 2 1/2 inches thick. It can be cut with a saw if necessary, such as to add a pump access door.

This product is only a support grate. Basins, reservoirs and pond liners to create water features are sold separately.

This is perfect for my needs. It has molded holes on the backside where I put some 2" PVC pieces to hold it up off the floor of my landing at the base of my basement steps. Its plenty strong to hold two adults as well. Now we don't have to stand in a puddle or snow to enter our apartment.

The price of these plastic grates is shocking, but it is as advertised - strong and easy to cut to size with a jig saw. I used it over a large plastic pond basin from Home Depot which is buried in the ground. It supports the concrete splash pad we made for the fountain with no issues - it's tough.

I looked at wooden grates for an outdoor shower, I considered making one on my own, but no way could I make one of this standard and this weight myself with such flexible purpose and durability for the need. This is an excellent product that is designed so that any number of modifications can be easily added to it. And it's such an affordable price.

I used two Heavy Duty Fountain Base Grates to raise the floor in a tiled shower. A family member has a beautiful tiled shower with a 2 1/2" high threshold to step over. He is temporarily confined to a wheelchair and I needed to make the shower accessible without damaging the structure or tiles. I bought a folding aluminum ramp to bridge the 2 1/2 inches from the bathroom floor to the top of the shower thresh hold. Inside I placed these two grates on the shower floor making it level with the thresh hold. It works very well. The grates are very sturdy. They are made to get wet, water drains nicely through the top, and the chair wheels roll easily over the top grid. I had to trim 6" from each grate but it cut easily on a table saw with a standard wood blade.
