Used this bit to drill holes for beach umbrellas. Worked perfectly. Lead cutting edges did nicely when encountering shell fragments and such. Excellent auger bit, especially at this price pont.

Did what I needed , started many nice pilot holes for some 24" drivable steel 4x4 post mounts in the hard North Carolina red clay ! As long as you you have an 18 volt or higher hand drill, it will get the job done ! As with any drill bit or auger bit drill a little then pull back up a little then drill some more so you discharge some materiel or chips from the hole and the drill flukes.

Used it to help dig out an old window well through compact rock, dirt, and clay.

Used this auger to drill holes for chain link fence posts deep as it would go. This auger is a reasonably robust tool, I drilled around 30 holes in well compacted sandy loam with grass and a few other small roots in about 30 minutes. Worked super well and still looks like new. Was well worth the money.

I ran 240V to the garage for my EV. I was told cable through the air was not NEC. I trenched from house to garage. And, lookie here, there's that pond I dug years ago. It was only a 10" wide arm of the pond, and I went under at a point where I had previously gone up to only an 8" depth to let pass a gas line. I drilled a 2" horizontal tunnel about 15" deep to get below the rubber lining. This auger was fine for the 3/4" ID PVC in which the 8/3 cable ran. Matter of fact, it still looks new. The soil was damp from rain. And I'm pretty sure I'll never use this tool again.

I mainly bought this auger to attach to my battery electric drill so I could aerate the compost piles. It works a charm, burrowing in easily and not offering too much resistance to be pulled back out while allowing me to get air deep into the pile. I’m sure it will also work well for small post holes, planting bulbs, etc. I’ve only had it a few months but I can’t imagine it breaking anytime soon, it seems quite solid.
