Bought this to help a portion of my dying lawn. This item is somewhat affective, although it is still too early to say for sure. I have a small lawn and even with that the durability is questionable as some of the spikes become loose after use. That is annoying. But easy to assemble and use.

I picked up two of these style of aerators this year. The other one is much nicer and heavier than this one, but that's not always a good thing. It also has a higher price. So this one is lighter, cheaper, and has fewer smaller spikes, but I believe it would do a sufficient job of aerating if you were only working on one small area at a time (as I tend to do). I did a few large areas with my other aerator and it turned into a workout! This one is at least lighter to carry and takes a little less work to get in/out of the ground, not that it won't still wear you out!I don't think this would take much abuse, but it's sturdy enough for occasional (or once around a small yard in a season) use. I think it could be bent if misused, but should hold up to its intended purpose well. For less than $20, I wouldn't say it's a bad buy. It pokes holes in grass/dirt and that's all you can ask of it!

This SILKPE 9 spike lawn aerator tool is solid. It is well built and very sturdy. I was able to put it together in no time. Using the aerator is so easy. I don't need to push the tool into the ground, I merely use gravity do its thing, making sure my feet aren't in the way. I did the small area of my lawn that needs some help to try it out, and it worked wonderfully.Unless you have a larger aerator machine, I highly recommend this for your lawn. I feel like it is a great value.

I picked this up as I have patchy areas of my lawn that require more aerating and seeding, specifically where trees used to be. This is great and easier than clumsy shoes IMO. I was able to get the job done quickly around my yard and start spreading seed. Thanks!

I have the spikes that go on my shoes and that worked for the wide-open area, but not for near the edge of sidewalks and garden beds. This worked perfectly! I was able to line it right up and press down like normal. It pulled right up with ease, and I was able to move right along.The spikes are made of metal. The held up a lot of turning and twisting while I figured out how this would hold up. The base plate that you step on is strong. The handle to hold on to wasn't the greatest to hold on to as it was really quiet low for me, but it did the job. I can't complain.

I'm happy with this aerator. Putting it together wasn't difficult, and its solid when using it in my yard. Goes into the solid ground quite easily and plenty of room for my foot to help push this in. Be aware that you may need to double-check the tightness of the spikes from time to time, as I had one come loose but didn't fall off.

Great aerator for long. So I highly recommend it, but only 2 people who have small yards. This is not efficient for people who have large yards. I have in total about 7000 square feet of property, with only 2000 square feet of it being grass. Obviously, it's convenient for me than getting the bigger machines. Because I don't have much grass but. To others who have probably achers, this will not work with you. This would only help you many first spot treatments. Are very big on using this before I realize it's going to rain. It really has helped my long grow. It is on the shorter side and considering I'm a short person. It works for me, it is durable. It's very easy to set up. And I think it's very affordable compared to the big Home improvement stores that have those machines for rental.
