I use this scale to weigh puppies..Newborn up to 8 week old. I also weigh our older dogs on it.It's sturdy and has a large enough surface area so the pups are comfortable

I bought this to keep tabs on the weight of my cats. They are getting older, and occasional weight checks can help in monitoring their health. My cats are the offspring of feral cats, so they tend to be very cautious and timid. I used velcro to attach some carpeting to the top surface, giving them something comfortable to stand on without slipping. Also, the top is big enough for them to stand on or sit on comfortably. (They range from 6 to 15 lbs) With the addition of the carpeting, most of them became comfortable standing or sitting on the scale long enough to get a stable reading. I have not tested the accuracy of the scale since it is repeatability that is most important - are they stable, gaining, or losing weight? This scale seems to provide readings that are repeatable over time. I weigh them on the floor. Since the floor is carpeted, I had to place the scale on a rigid plastic serving tray to provide a good surface for the scale base. This is true with any scale. If you don't place it on a flat hard surface, it will not be accurate.I dislike that it is too easy to accidentally change the weight units. The units indicator in the display is small and hard to see in poor light (like on the floor).

Seemed to work fine for three months. Did not calibrate during that time. I use it approximately once per month to weigh my cats. The fourth time I used it, scale would not stabilize on zero. Display would vary between zero and three pounds but would not stabilize. I put a known weight of two pounds on the scale and it displayed approximately 2.5 pounds but would not stabilize, bouncing between 2.3 and 2.8 pounds. I don't know how to contact the supplier but unit should be refunded or replaced.

This is really a piece. I had to mess with it for quite a while trying to get numbers to show up on the readout.I got one cat weighed on it and the weight was very wrong. Next time I went to use it, it wouldn't work at all.Buy a better one.

I really like this scale for monthly updates for my baby. Its easy to use. Very simple. I wish it was in lbs AND oz instead of just lbs. But that's not a huge issue. Just wish I would've noticed before I purchased. I will keep the scale and continue to use it. I like the TAR button. It zeros the scale so I can place a blanket down to weigh my baby and not have to adjust the weight mentally or manually :) that's a nice feature. I actually gave it to a friend of ours who fosters puppies from the shelter. She needed it to weigh the pups so they get appropriate dose of medicine as needed. She ranked us and said it was perfect. She needed it to be certified so she can get paid for fostering, instead of volunteering.
