We have 4 Air B&B vacation rental near Mt. Hood ski resort in Oregon. The area is remote and surrounded by mountains so cell signal is one bar at best. We were hoping this would fix that...In order to amplify a cellular signal, you have to have a fairly good signal in order to boost it...meaning, you can't magically get 4 bars of signal if you start out with 1 bar. This booster kit requires a good bit of knowledge, patience, and handyman type skills. It's not a project for someone that's scared of a ladder and hand tools.Once we got it set up, we did notice a one bar boost in signal as displayed on our cell phones, but that was somewhat misleading. Normally, the difference between one bar and two bars is minimal, but in this case it made a serious difference. We still had dropped calls, and sending texts with pictures sometimes took a few tries. Before installing this booster, sending pics was a 100% failure and receiving calls was better than trying to make a call outbound. With the booster, we noticed a measurable better call quality and texts, even with pics, were possible.Definitely worth the money and effort.

First, it works, it brought the outside signal that I got on my phone inside the house. The reason for 4 stars is no mention of how far this antennae needs to be from the inside antennae. 39ft! I can tell you I'm maybe at 24 to 30 and it works fine in my all condo. It comes with pol adapting brackets but I was able to screw it into the bottom of the upstairs deck because Im in a condo. The little window cable was the most useful. I used it to run along the door saddle to get outside. Then if you don't use up the cable it's full size coax you have to hide. So it's a good product that works, but a lot of setup. I would say 4 stars difficult for the average person. Ok

Easy to install and setup. This kit includes all the mounting brackets and cables needed to complete the install. I used a app to locate the nearest cellphone tower and positioned the outside antenna in the direction of the cell tower. My phone reception with Verizon has dramatically improved after installing this cell booster.

I had a similar 4G cellular booster in the past that disappeared, so this is the replacement now with 5G capability. Having installed one previously I was able to determine where to angle the antenna towards the T-Mobile tower, assemble the system and voila! Now instead of 2 bars there are 4. I readjusted for an AT&T tower using a different phone and it went from 1 bar to 3. As T-Mobile is the main phones here I will keep it towards their antenna for our needs. Having put a metal roof on the house a few years ago causing reduced signal this is a big plus to overcome that obstacle. Like the last booster though, the plastic outdoor antenna will likely start to break down after a few years due to the UV sunlight, but I might need a 6G booster by then!

I live in a near-dead zone between 6 Verizon cell towers half to 3/4th of a mile away. You'd think I'd have a great signal. But I measure -100 to -115 dB walking around the outside of the house. Inside the house, it's more like -105 to -120 dB. Needless to say, I have very spotty call quality and sometimes almost non-existent internet connectivity if I am not connected to WiFi.The outside antenna is supposed to be directional but seems to be extremely forgiving. It does impact the amplified signal inside the house, but not by as much as I'd think. I still point the antenna at the tower that my phone indicates it usually connects to, which oddly enough is not the closest tower. The indoor antenna seems to be more directional, although it's supposed to cover 180 degrees. It feels more like 90 degrees. It improves the signal by around 15 to 20 dB as long as I'm in the room within that 90 degree angle and within about 20 feet. It improves upload/download speeds a little bit.The LCD panel on the amplifier seems to be mostly static information, although if something was wrong, maybe it wouldn't be. The signal level graph does change a little, but usually shows 5 bars, sometimes dipping to 4.If my outdoor signal wasn't so weak to begin with, I imagine my indoor signal would be proportionately better. If you are unable to use WiFi calling, a device like this might be your only option.

I live in an apartment complex in North Dallas, and for some reason, I’ve only been able to hold one or two bars (if I’m lucky). Truthfully, I’ve actually noticed slower speeds when attempting my cells browser, and have even experienced missed call alerts that come in without notice. I’ve tried some troubleshooting and can’t seem to figure out if it’s faulty equipment or what, but I know it’s not my phone - it’s brand new. Maybe it has to do with the carrier (I’m using AT&T). Also, the unit is pretty bulky if I do say so myself, and it leaves a tangle of wires and equipment that should probably remain “in the open” to prevent any signal interference, so it’s hard to tuck away.
