It is built very well, except it is very heavy compared to others I have had and doesn’t work any better. I guess that’s good if you drop it off a roof.It does work very smooth so you have to really pay attention at the beginning and end of your beads and if you have to pause even for a second to rotate or switch angles it will keep oozing out unless you release pressure. So, for fine work it absolutely sucks, but if you are just filling gaps in something that doesn’t have to be pretty, this is your gun.

Very easy to use. This is a great value for your money. I didn't realize how good this was until I replaced my old one. The extra detailing tools are nice to have. I wish I had bought it sooner.

After testing this caulk gun with interior/exterior and roof patch caulk, I found this doesn't do anything that a basic, well made caulk gun can't do.And critically, those other caulk guns come with a "needle" attached to poke a hole in the surface of the caulk so the caulk can flow assuming you've cut the tip.As to the flow control / dripless, this "feature" is the same as releasing the pressure on a regular caulk gun by clicking a lever in the back which release the pressure applied by the plunger on the base of the caulk tube.Except those basic guns are also all metal, whereas this one has a plastic housing and lever so durability from ladder drops, etc. are a concern for me. The more I used this, I do a lot of DIY for my house and a 1930s bungalow I rent out, the more I came to understand that what differentiates this caulk gun from good basic ones is marketing, the lack of the needle and plastic. This caulk gun works, it's definitely better than basic, bargain basement ones.It has plenty of power. Not that you want sheer power in a caulk gun, but when I didn't fully pierce a previously used tube, I squeezed and squeezed until I heard crackling and popping coming from the base of the tube where the plunger plunges. It was pushing the base of the tube up the tube, causing caulk to come out from the back. That's impressive, though again, power isn't what you want. Consistent and predictable flow are what I want.Yes, it comes with two tip extenders, and these are mandatory for caulking in tight spots such as the backsplash behind a bathroom fixture with little clearance. That does help provide a more complete package. But let me ask you to consider, once you use the extender, how will you finish the bead? You can't use the caulk bead smoothers also included, they won't fit. That's where using your finger comes in. More on that next.So yes, it comes with caulk bead smoothers which are a mixed bag. Unless you must get a certain profile, or are dealing with a large gap, the best tool you have is a wet finger and a bunch of clean damp cloths to keep your finger clean so you don't transfer caulk from one spot to another. If you use these smoothers, keep them "clean clean clean" as you work. This type of work is a well worn trail for me and I am not unique in this. I really wanted the next great thing to solve little nuisances that slow down a project, cause redo's and generally are a pain as they add up as the day/night wears on and you just want to make that long drive home. This isn't one of them. I found myself having to pull out my other caulk gun just to pierce the tube each time I wanted to use or reuse a tube in this caulk gun. Why don't I just use the old caulk gun then? Also, the rubber coating on the hook end of the plunger makes makes it more difficult to insert the hook into something like the vertical support of a Gorilla rack, where I hang my caulk guns, or to hang over the rung of a ladder when doing window or siding repair. That hook can go over the rung, but the rubber coating makes its internal dimension narrower.Works well, no needle makes it impractical, plastic, less practical hook, nice value-adds, no compelling differentiation.

This is very sturdy! I had a plastic one store bought and it broke, so I decided to invest in a better one, this one is all metal and super sturdy, application is also way easier when compared to others.
