Quality is great! The plastic is quality and it protects my baked goods from flies. Amazing for parties, which is why I got this. I use this at home now just because.

First of all — Thanks to other reviewers for their installation tips, because it saved me trouble and I took their advice to use flat washers. Seriously, communities are such a huge help!! Designers create products, then someone at the top switches out parts to save money, and consumers foot the bill. Hopefully, with this fix the display case will last longer. I use it on long weekends and holidays to fill with breakfast treats for my family. It works as expected and looks great.

The overall design of this case is sound, and the quality of materials is decent. The problem with the case isn't the case itself, but rather the hardware included to put it together. Or, more correctly, the hardware NOT included to put it together.Where the top and bottom connect to the sides via 6 screws on top and 6 on the bottom, they include screws and lock washers to hold it together. Lock washers will only dig into plastic and cause a failure. The lack of flat washers means the screw head and nut surfaces have very little contact surface area with the plastic, resulting in high levels of stress to the plastic, which can easily crack it. In short, a decent case is made sub-standard by including the wrong hardware. To make this case work and NOT have it crack on you, you will need to do the following:Discard the 12 split lock washers. Including them was just silly. You don't use a narrow split washer on plastic. Whoever decided on this hardware package - not worth what you're paying them.Discard the 12 M5-0.8 regular nuts.Purchase:12 M5-0.8 stainless steel nylon insert locking nuts (to replace the non-locking nuts).24 M5 stainless steel flat washers.OPTIONAL: 24 M5 nylon flat washers. Amazon sells 50 packs for less than $10.You MUST put flat washers on both the top AND the bottom of each screw / nut that holds the top and sides together. 24 total, 2 for each screw and nut set. This will double the cracking resistance, if not triple it. Be careful of torque - the lock nuts will help you get them "just snug" and stay there. For an extra measure of crack prevention, also add nylon washers between the plastic body of the case and the stainless steel flat washers. This will probably increase the crack resistance by another 50% if not more, by spreading the clamping force across a greater area with a softer material. So, 24 M5 flat washers - absolutely essential.24 M5 nylon washers - a recommended additional option. And has I haven't yet acquired the applicable hardware yet myself, I'm not yet certain that I won't need to go 1 size longer on the screws. So you MAY need a longer screw, but until I get flat washers and nylon locking nuts to put this together PROPERLY, I won't know if I need to make another trip to the hardware store. Also, putting said flat washers on the screws that hold the handles on is another REALLY good idea to prevent cracking. So you might as well add another 6 while you're at it.There are some that have said it's cheap and cracks easily. This is only partially true, and I completely understand their observations, especially if you don't know enough about the physical materials properties in question to make a slightly more accurate assessment. It's not "cheap", and it only "cracks easily" if you install it with the included hardware. Which is simply wrong. And I don't care what highly paid engineer said "this will work to hold it together." They were wrong. If you put this case together with the proper hardware (flat washers throughout, and preferably with nylon flat washers underneath THOSE), and using nylon locking nuts in place of the split lock washers, then you will find that this case is MUCH less prone to cracking than had you put it together with the included hardware.Manufacturer: get it together. This isn't the hardware you should include to assemble an acrylic / plexiglass case. Period. You need to spread the clamping forces over a large area, and you need to make it so the screws can be just snug. You simply can't do that with split lock washers. It needs large flat washers (ideally, stainless steel and nylon both), and nylon locking nuts. THAT is the proper hardware for assembling this case.My recommendation of this case is...partial. So long as you understand that for it to be put together right and not crack on you, you need to replace most of the hardware, then it's pretty decent. Especially if you get it on sale.IF the manufacturer revises the hardware content of this case, and begins including the hardware I recommend (which I absolutely stand by being correct), including flat washers and nylon locking nuts, I will revise my review. But I'll need to see the hardware kit for myself first. What should be a 5 star case is sadly reduced to 3 stars because of the need to replace the majority of the included (incorrect) hardware with correct hardware.

This 2 tray acrylic pastry display case is as pictured and described. I got this for my mother in law and I to use when we do the craft/food events around town. This display case adds a nice touch and is nice for the customers to grab themselves and makes restocking nice as we can reload from either side. It is very sturdy and feels like it was made to last. The quality of this is worth the price, I am very happy with this.
