As a professional automotive technician, removing engines for replacements or repair is a regular operation. Many engines have no lifting hooks or convenient places to attach chains to. That is where these awesome lifting brackets come in.The product arrives as a set of 4 brackets packaged in a small cardboard box with each piece wrapped in plastic inside. The brackets are very nice and made very well. The finish is very smooth, the mounting hole is 1/2" and very cleanly drilled. Some others I own are very crude looking but these are not. Although the rating is not marked on the bracket, they are supposed to be rated for 5,500 lbs, which is way more than enough for any engine I will ever work with. The quality of these brackets are top notch and well deserving of 5 stars for both quality and value. Highly recommended.

These are large enough to handle serious bolts to secure it to an engine block and the eyelet is large enough for a cherry picker hook to fit, or you can easily hook up a balancing bar if you need to tip an engine/transmission up to a crazy angle to get it out of a vehicle. They make moving heavy things around the shop a lot easier.

These engine hoist hooks as I'm calling them hooks are really good quality. Recently used them to pull the motor and transmission out of a car when we needed to service the transmission. They took the weight without question, not that the first set of bolts we had did so well. But when we changed to class ten bolts there was no issue whatsoever. And this was not a quick simple job by any standard period we were doing this job over a multiple day period of the pull as time permitted us to do so. Thus, these hooks saw a lot of hang time as I will call it.When we got the motor and transmission removed from the vehicle in question the engine was left on these hooks holding it upright with the motor lightly resting against a couple blocks and boards creating a balance stand while the transmission was removed from it and then the torque converter. The hoist was locked in this position for about a week while that transmission was serviced. Then it was another four days to settle everything back together and replace it into the vehicle. These hooks performed flawlessly for us.It should further be noted that they have some sort of Anti Corrosion coating on them unsure of what it is but the treatment on the metal is a nice addition. During our period of service on the transmission we got some rain for a couple days and these did not corrode at all no marks of it no nothing even with dissimilar metals in contact with the one another. The bolts that we use ended up with a small amount of corrosion on them but nothing on the hook side only on the chain side to the hoist. These hoist adapters really are the way to go especially if you are doing it the old way of just bolts and washers as many still do. They give you that sense of quality attachment and safety. They're worth having there they make your job easier as it gives you flexibility of attachments to the chain and knowing you've got a good bite into the block with the proper bolts instead of what you've got laying around that you hope will fit and do the job. I'm very happy with these I would recommend them to anybody. Please remember we just to say it to say it, remember to always be safe and use the proper bolts. Nothing equal to or below a class five bolt should be considered ever due to weight. You should only use class eight bolts or preferably class ten bolts. Remember your safety and your investment depend on it.

Well made enough, heavy flange. Great for hoisting that engine. Also useful for other applications where a really heckin solid tie down point is desirable. You know, for reasons...

I needed these brackets to help with lifting engine parts, large heads and heavy cast radiators out of the antique tractors I work on. I wasn't sure if these would work but the capacity rating was more than I needed so I figured I would try them. They were more substantial than I thought they would be. The two brackets are heavy duty and weigh in at about one and a quarter pounds together. The tabs are 3/8ths thick, and the rings are big enough to get a hoist hook in them. The rings are also welded shut and the welds looks decent. There is a half inch hole to attach these with a bolt or slide over an existing stud. I have no way of testing the lift capacity but they are heavy duty and will work for me.
