Excellent fit for most standard pocket door frames. Installed on a 28” door, with rollers just barely fitting in.

Looks like it should do the trick. So far it’s a great deal.

I've installed a bunch of Johnson pocket door and sliding bypass doors in a couple of our properties, and one of the things I love about them are their soft close/soft open feature. It's an upgrade to their standard kits, but boy they sure are nice in preventing slamming doors. But they're also not cheap upgrades. So, when I saw this kit--a big potential savings and great value given that you get two soft close hangers for less than the price of one Johnson hanger--I had to check it out.Amazingly, this thing is about as close to a copy of the Johnson kit as probably exists. The only difference I can see is that the metal on this kit is plated a gold-ish color whereas the Johnson kit is silver in color. It all works exactly the same. The rollers have bearings that spin smoothly, and the damper for the soft close likewise is smooth in its action.Of course, only time will tell if this holds up as well as the Johnson OEM version. But if you have Johnson pocket doors or sliding bypass doors without this soft close feature and want to add it on, then this kit is a less expensive way of doing so and I think it's worth checking out.

These guys are better than any other hardware I’ve ever used. I’ve gotten the full 1500 setup multiple times and it’s always worked great. 5/5 would buy again.

I've never had nor installed a soft close pocket door, but I had installed a plain pocket door in our laundry room during a remodel. It quickly got annoying when the kids would accidentally slam it open or closed. It even caused the screws to start backing out and the door became crooked, requiring retightening of the screws. While it was not fun to tear back into the drywall for installation, the improvement of having soft close feature on that door has been worth the effort. So much nicer.Because I haven't installed actual Johnson brand soft close hardware before, I can't really compare this kit to theirs, but it seemed to be well made and worked as expected. I didn't have any issues with installing and can't really offer any tips that I can think of.We will see how well it continues to work as the years go by, and I can always revisit this review if things change.
