This kit was perfect for updating my vintage clock that had a very loud ticking movement that was very annoying to hear. This kit includes two silent movements and multiple pairs of hands providing options for repairing old clocks or making new ones. Buyers should measure their old movement shafts and hands to make sure this kit will work in their old clock. It runs on one AA battery which are easy to find and the movement is truly “silent”. The price was a great value also considering everything included.

Our very large wall clock stopped working recently, and I was able to easily fix it with this repair kit. I chose this product in part because it included mechanisms with two shaft lengths, since I was 100% sure how long a shaft I needed. I also appreciated having several styles of hands to choose from, including sweep second hands, which we didn't have before. My only criticism: the package comes with zero instructions. However, if you click through the images on the product listing, you'll find a set of basic instructions, along with a graphic that shows what size shift you need. I would also recommend paying attention as you remove an old mechanism so you know how the new one should go together.

Very quiet, good construction. I haven't had it long enough to know anything about battery life, but I suspect it won't be good. A normal battery-operated quartz clock pulses short electromagnetic burts a couple of times a second to advance its mechanisms, where this one is actually constantly spinning a motor. It does what's advertised though, with a completely smooth second hand.

Pro: the hands are prettyCons: A. the material is little more than foil B. my cat brushing against the clock bent one of them C. the area at the base of the hands isn’t covered, it’s just a thin nutPro: very easy to clip with scissorsCon: A. some second hands are excessively long, which is why I had to clip the one I used B. they get tangled easily with just the slightest bendPros: A. quiet B. keeps timeCon: no instructions included, I had to use trial-and-error at every step

This would have been 5 stars if there were any instructions at all. Watch how your clock goes together as you disassemble it, and look at the customer videos, particularly the first one from Ycoyx9tx. It's not hard, but the picture that people refer to does not mention the order of the washers and rings. I put the black washer on the mechanism then pushed the shaft through the hole, so the black washer stayed on the back of the clock face. Then on the front, I put the round gold washer, then the hexagonal one (tighten the hexagonal one gently but snugly). Then I pushed the hour hand on, then the minute hand. Lastly I screwed the little cap screw into the shaft.

I have a cheap desk clock that the spouse loves. The battery corroded in so I had to replace the motor. Failed at buying just a clock motor that would fit old hands, so pulled the trigger on this set. The hands are long and made for a wall clock. I simply cut down the hands to give something that would work. I give myself a sold B for my cuts! This is a non ticking clock with no noise.

I have a really cool wall clock that has real neon around it that works but the little quartz clock mechanism in it no longer worked. this was a perfect fit to the other clock and i chose to swap out the original clock hands with some from this kit to better fit the vibe of the clock. i'm not the most handy person on the planet but i found this pretty easy and quick to do.

Really good value quartz clock motors, great price for 2 plus a choice of fingers, these motors were a perfect fit for the original fingers so we're not needed this time. Some people love the ticking sound but I wanted silence & these make no sound at all. Just beware there are 2 spindle lengths & with thin clock faces the protusion may be too great, I suggest thick packing washers at the rear as a way around this problem. So far as time keeping goes after 1 week they have not needed adjusting.

This stuff does not work. I bet the positive reviews just didn't bother when they stopped working, perhaps outside return window.Even though Amazon was great about replacing and refunding my money, the time I wasted and ultimately did not get a working version, is ridiculous. I was very careful to make sure it was installed properly and hands don't collide. I used fresh non-alkaline batteries as required in ad (good luck finding those - they are required for poorly designed mechanisms - look it up).Original order: One stopped after several hours. Touch clock and it starts again. Reliably fails. Other seemed ok.Amazon send replacement.Replacement order: One is seized - setting wheel won't even turn. Other one stops after hours like original order. So, 3 out of 4 mechanisms didn't work. THEN the only working one stops working. Touch clock and it starts again. So, 4 out of 4 mechanisms don't work - one actually lasting close to two weeks.I won't be ordering any more replacements - it looks like these are all made by the same place and sold by different resellers.I'm going to have to buy new clocks since repair does not appear to be an option. One clock I am trying to fix lasted 35 years! Now China makes these as cheaply as possible and has gone too far.Very disappointing. Likely poorly made components just seize up eventually and need a nudge to get going again. Save your money and time. Amazon should be flagging these. It was "Amazon's Choice"!

I needed a silent movement in my very noisy clock! This fits the purpose and it really updates the look of my clock with the red hands. I'm very pleased with the options of hands I received, a lot of choice and so fast delivery. I only ordered last night and it was here today before 2pm! The new movement was simple to fit and makes my clock look more retro!
