Got this to repair an engraved gift clock. Since it was not a perfect replacement had to make a few alterations to get it to fit. But it has now been running a little over a month and keeping good time. BE SURE YOU CORRECTLY MEASURE THE POST which the clock hands attach to.

I have a clock that has sentimental value. When the clock stopped working, I went to Amazon to find a replacement clock works. I found this unit. It fits just like the original and was easy to replace once I got my clock apart. Just note how long the shaft is, and you have working clock again.

I buy a lot of these as I have a clock fetish, and have never had a problem with any of the other manufacturers. I was in a hurry and picked from a list of pricing low to high. Totally worthless pieces. The only reason I don't return them is that I had to adapt the length of the clock hands to fit in a smaller face. I would be more trouble than it's worth.

I replaced the mechanism in a brass miniature German-built mantel clock I was given thirty years ago, but the "tick, tick, tick" of the mechanism I pulled from my parts bin drove me nuts. Also, this standard el-cheapo mechanism was way too large and loomed behind the tiny clock face.I did some research, found this mechanism, and installed it. The size is much smaller and is now barely visible behind the clock face. Also, my original clock did not have a second hand, but when I decided to try out the second hand and saw that it was a continuous sweep, I kept it installed.I then took the extra time to hack the clock exactly. It has now been over a month since I installed the mechanism, and the second hand shows the time only two seconds off the NBS time I used to set it. For the price, that accuracy is amazing.I'm going to be getting more of these.

Hands a bit flimsy but keeps time so renewed old clock that I love and thought was going to have to be donated to someone handier than me.
