I opened the package and pulled the little tab and the bird chirped away! I tossed it to my cat and watched him play with it but it never chirped so I picked it up and squeezed, shook, etc. to try and get it to chirp but it’s dead!

My cat went bonkers for the bird toy when he first got it, but much like a human child, he lost interest after his first initial play time with it. He does still randomly swat or carry it around the house, so that's good. The toy is cute and my cat does like real feathers, which these birds have.I gave my cat the red Cardinal bird first and I'm saving the other blue bird for his Christmas present (along with some treats). The birds make a pretty realistic sounding noise, but it's not super loud like actual birds, so that's great. Just enough tweets to captivate my cat. The birds make noise easily with any kind of movement. The 2 birds each came with their own cord and plastic loop for optional hanging, but I didn't hang our birds because my cat likes to walk around with the bird at times.

The birds came packaged in a small plain box. Inside each bird was sealed in a nice thick resealable plastic back. The birds had a strong smell of catnip. To start the chirping sound all you have to do is pull the small plastic tab. Each bird also came with a string and a loop to hang the bird from. Great toy for cats. The birds have nice color printed details and the tails are made of real feathers
