These are pretty cool items for the pool. I only needed one, but the offer was so good for two I took it. I have one in now and set one back for next year. I'll rotated them until they break but the kids seem to like them.

Thermometer detached inside within two weeks! Don't bother wasting your money here. You'd think that the manufacturer would consider using a robust glue that isn't affected by heat to hold the thermometer in place inside the sealed tube. Seems like a no brainer thing to do considering it's going to be submerged in a how tub at 102 degrees. It's completely unsalvageable since you can't get into it to repair.

Ok, so I looked at other reviews before buying. And these other reviews overall were right. These therms do fall apart over time. In the pool at all times, they last about 3 months before they start to come apart. In particular my experience with 2 of these, is the internal temp measuring stick will come loose. It still works, but it comes loose, so you need to be careful when using/reading it. My options were:Dont leave it in the pool, orReplace them every few months.Now that my pool has reached temperature, and my pool heater is properly set, and gives a temp reading thats fairly accurate, I dont need these in the pool full time. Just occasionally when I want to confirm temperature.For my purpose, these were fine.

Bought for a cold plunge outside. Works well. The turtle lives outside and works great. We use the flamingo inside for the bath and it steams up a bit, harder to read.

These were so cute and fit with my pool theme but within a month both floats had the thermometer come unglued and just rattle around inside the bottom part that floats in the pool, rendering it useless. So to try and describe this, the temperature is printed in the long piece that the flamingo or turtle is on top of and there is a thermometer glued inside that. From the pics you can see the brownish glue and the thermometer that came unattached and no longer aligns with the printed temperature. Literally I bought these in June and before July 4th both had this happen. Apparently high 90s during the day is too hot for these floats. I never threw these hard back in the pool after checking the temp nor did I let them hit the side when dropping them back it. Don't buy these if you are using them in the desert southwest, they can't handle even mild desert heat.
