These bookshelves are perfect for my classroom. They easily hold 2 hard cover books side by side, and if I don’t mind them overlapping it’s strong enough to hold more.

The shelves hold on strong regardless of if I slide my whiteboards to and fro. A part of me does wish it had a bar to stop anything from tipping over, but to be honest that’s a very rare occurrence

I've been wanting a set of magnetic shelves for my classroom whiteboard to display read alouds and other classroom books. I was excited to get these to try out! They did not disappoint. I am actually thrilled to have these (teacher happiness haha). They are a good sturdy weight and the magnetic strip on the back is very strong. As I was placing it on my white board, as it got near the board, the magnetic pull gripped right away. The shelves don't slip at all even with my heavier hardback books, and the edges are smooth so there is no damage or scratches to the white board when repositioning. They are easy to remove or reposition by tilting them. I originally wanted clear acrylic magnetic shelves, but I'm very happy with these. They are incredibly durable and strong.

2 magnetic shelvesBoth shelves feel like very solid heavy metal (husband works with metal and says 20 gauge stainless steel). Looks to be solid black, not painted, so it won't chip off. Each have a full length wide magnetic strip on the back. I tested them on my refrigerator with the absolute heaviest book I have in my house (a 900 page hardcover textbook), and they held! I did need to make sure it was centered and balanced since it was so wide, but the magnets did support it, so it will undoubtedly work just fine for childrens' books as planned, assuming the school whiteboard is similarly as magnetic as my fridge. All corners are smoothly rounded. By my tape measure, it's just the tiniest bit smaller than the pictures say (I see 16.94" instead of 17.2" wide, and the back is 2" tall instead of 2.4", but the width is 2.4" though, so maybe that measurement was just placed in the wrong spot on the image). Overall, they look like great shelves!

These shelves stick very firmly to my classroom whiteboard and desk. I can fit two picture books or three novels on them, depending on the size of the books. The shelves are almost too narrow for some books to lean back like they need to in order to balance, but none have fallen off yet.The magnet is so strong that it's almost difficult to slide the shelves around to level them out! I'll take that over them falling down any day, though.
