Very hard to position, to have faucet tight in adaptor and clocked to point down to extract fluid, 0-ring provided will not stay seated to seal, rolls out, NOT a good set up! faucet size is good!

I wanted to use this on a plastic 55 gallon barrel, and discovered that the two openings have different thread sizes. One has coarse thread and the other has fine thread. The fine thread is the standard barrel thread and it fit this adapter just fine.It came with plenty of Teflon tape and a hose clamp to secure your hose. Note that the hose-bib will not screw on to your garden hose, it's made for the hose to go on directly (without a connector).

Screws on well to the blue 55 gallon barrel I have and will serve the purpose I need it for. That being said, the brass hose ball valve portion of the kit have some chunks taken out of the threads (see photo). Unsure if this will cause leaking issues yet but it doesn't seem so.

This is a handy way to convert 55 gal drums to rain barrels/water storage. The threads fit well, and the adapter is quite heavy and solid. The valve is brass, and if you want to use this for potable water it you may want to "pickle" it to remove surface lead. Not a huge concern for me but some go that extra step for brass that will be in extended contact with potable water. In any case, this kit works well and is priced much better than what I can get locally.
