I like it. Reads temp farely quickly with the probe. I like having the the infrared sensor for probeless temp readings, just wish it had a visible red dot to see what exactly I am reading. In comparing it to other thermometers I have in the house, hard to tell which is more accurate. It's in the ball park of the others and reads 212 when boiling.I like it, it's my everyday use thermometer.

I've used this thermometer in my kitchen for the last week or so, and I'm fairly satisfied although I have a few thoughts. As far as I'm able to tell, the probe and infrared scanning temperatures are accurate, and the build quality is acceptable but not impressive. My only gripe is that many of the controls are obscured behind specific combinations of button presses (i.e. press scan once, mode four times, and scan again) to accomplish basic operations like changing between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Because of this, it's less intuitive to use and requires keeping the manual to know the details of operation. Overall, it seems like a thermometer that might be more suited to industrial or professional use than a home kitchen, because of some of the advanced features like emissivity and HAACP reporting, but I'm certainly going to keep it around.

We purchased one of these at E. Dehilleri in Paris fifteen years ago. After daily use, it finally died. Glad we found it again because it is the best kitchen thermometer by far. The price is much better this time around as well.
