The ball-lock requires you to push it down with your foot and the weight of your body to lock it, but it's MUCH faster than the old fashion threaded locks. And releasing it is much quicker as well. Once welded on, it feels nice and sturdy.

From day one the latch mechanism is faulty. No matter how much I lubricate the latch gets stuck. Can not send back because the period for returning the item is over. I just installed it on my homemade trailer so I could not test it earlier.

I purchased this coupler because it was supposed to be a bolt on coupler. When it arrived there were no bolt holes so I had to drill them myself. Once I had the old coupler cut off I was able to clamp this one in place and drill the 6 holes simply enough. My only complaint is that if you're selling something as a bolt on product you should have the bolt holes predrilled. Other then that its a fine replacement for the coupler that I ruined when the trailer was frozen 4 inches into the ground.
