I like the look. Installation was pretty simple, but after a couple days it went to 0 with the "WARNING" illuminated. I shifted back and forth through the cylinder settings and tried to set it back to 8 cylinders. NO GO!Someone in other reviews mentioned adding a resistor but didn't mention on which side or what resistor. Does the seller have any idea?

Throw away the limited instructions that come with this tach, On the back, you will see what looks like (and is labeled like) a toggle switch. It's not. It's an intermittent switch to use to change the cylinder count which I will explain in a second.First, connect the tach to 12v power, Once connected, it's going to most likely default to a 1cyl engine. Using the intermittent switch on the back, hit it once and you should see a "1" displayed showing the current setting, then tap it again for a "2" and again for a "3" until you see the number that corresponds to the number of cylinders your engine has. Once you connect the signal wire (and assuming it's transmitting 1 pulse per cylinder) the correct RPM should be displayed. As others have mentioned, there is a fair amount of delay as it only updates maybe 1x or 2x per second. If you need something more accurate, you'll wind up spending a LOT more money. However, if you are simply looking to see what RPM your idle is at, your RPM at cruising speed, etc, this will work well.

I've used this on my motorcycle, (1998 Honda Shadow 750) works just fine, has withstood the outside environment with 3D printed mount.Eay to connect, no issues.Readable in all angles of the sun all day.

This product doesnt work most of the time shows nothing or 40-180 rpm when it does "work" it cant hold steady at all (fluctuates by 1000rpm at constant rpm) and is no where near accurate. They must have switched to a new design because there is no longer a switch on the back just a buttom with no instructions.Find a reliable tach somewhere else.

It does not work , only reads 9999 and bounces around. Nothing in the so called instructions for trouble shooting. I thought I could make it work, despite the reviews, but I just sent it back. buyer beware!

Good guage that doesn't require any tubing or special fitings. Wiring diagram included and makes installation easy. recommend.

Reasonably simple to install, put the 12v from the gauge to the ignition switch and the 12v for the sensor from the generator via the rear light. So in my configuration the sensor is powered only when the lights are on and in low-beam.The sensor takes an Amp when initially heating up and a half amp when running, and I didn't want to load the battery with the heater and the starter at the same time. Can definitely tell when it's on with a 50cc bike.

Upon installation readout bounces around 5000 to 9999 at any engine speed including idle. # of cylinder setting makes no difference. Went back to my old analog tach. Now I have one that works.

I am updating this review to 5 stars because the seller was very quick to update the description to include the 10 mm thread, and also offered to provide a full refund for the price of the product since I was not able to use it (even though I did not request a refund). I really appreciate the quick response and the great support.-------------------------------------Original review: The sending unit (sensor) has a 10 mm thread, not 1/4" NPT, I wasn't able to use it. It would have been good if this information was provided in the product description.
