Got NGK plugs but for some reason the socket does not reach the 6 point area so it doesn’t work on my plugs, to be honest , it seems long enough but the channel is too narrow and comes up about a half inch short. Short plug socket compared to previous sockets I’ve used

I bought this socket to remove & install spark plugs in a Range Rover V8 which has very deep spark plug wells. It did great on the first plug but then it wouldn't pull out the second plug so I had to use a long reach magnetic wand. When checking what was going wrong I found that the magnetic ring had come out of the socket and was still attached to the first plug I removed. Apparently a brass ring had been inserted into the main socket and the magnet fell out of the brass ring. I fixed all of this with some epoxy and made the tool workable again but I should not have had to do that.
