My kid needed an extension for their heavy horseshoe lock to be able to wrap appropriately throught the frame, wheel, and post of the bike rack. Seems like this will fit the bill.

I wanted a cable small enough to be portable when travelling or carrying a backpack but stout enough to need bolt cutters to disable. These fit the bill perfectly. I can use small tsa locks with them or larger padlocks when desired. The loops are super tough. The vinyl casing helps to eliminate any chance of scratches. The cable itself won't be cut with standard hand tools that could be hidden or concealed in a pocket. You would need a full blown small bolt cutter to damage these and that's going to look pretty suspicious. Recommend these for multiple uses.

These cables are nicely made and look good to the eye. However, as is shown in the picture with the micrometer, they are VERY thin. They might be good for keeping luggage secure while you look away for a minute, but I would never trust them to secure a bicycle (at least not an expensive one). They are, in fact, cables, but I'd refer to them more as twine- or string-like than cable-like. Anyone with a decent pair of cutters would not be deterred, and likely not even slowed down.As long as you realize how very thin these are and your purposes don't require something more robust, they could be a good choice.

DESCRIPTION:This is a 2-pack of security cables, 6' length, color orange. These are light duty, that is, good for protection from "honest" people who see an opportunity to lift something. You would not use these to lock up an expensive bicycle overnight, but you could use them to secure something in an open vehicle while you are in a store or away a short time.————————HOW I USED IT:I have two uses for these cables:1. To secure items in the bed of my pickup truck, to keep them from sliding around, falling off, or being stolen while I am out on supply runs. Typically I would use these for propane tanks, gas cans, tires, wheels, ladders, and construction materials.2. I would take one these when traveling to secure luggage. We travel by train and many passenger cars and stations have racks for temporary storage of luggage. This allows passing the cable through the luggage and the rack. I have never seen luggage intentionally stolen on the train or at a train station, but I have seen people inadvertently pick up luggage which is similar to their own.————————PLUS POINTS:The 6' length is perfect to span across the truck bed, between the cargo tie down staples. The loops are large enough so you can pass one loop through the other to secure one end of the cable (so you only need one padlock, not two). The two cables can be daisy-chained to make one longer cable. The ends are cleanly secured inside the ferrules, there are no sharp wire ends sticking out.I like the bright orange color which makes it easy to locate inside my storage box.————————MINUS POINTS:The only criticism is the braided covering on the cable, which conceals the steel wire inside and makes it appear like it is just a braided rope, perhaps tempting people to try to cut through it.————————OVERALL:Very pleased with these cables and I use them on just about every supply run I make.

It was just a little smaller than I expected.
