18 pcs Reading Guide Strips, CNYMANY Highlight Strips Finger Guided Reading Strips Bookmarks Colored Overlay ReadingI have used these for years in teaching reading. They are good for the child who has trouble tracking from one line to another. I needed a replacement set and decided to try these.Pros:-- Lots of variety here in colors and configuration. I prefer the one-line strip when teaching reading (the narrow one), but the wider strip comes in handy when children are ready to read a paragraph at a time yet still need a little assistance.-- Good quality plastic. These should last a while.-- Light colors will be easy to use.Cons:-- Green narrow strip too dark to use.-- Red narrow strip too dark to use.-- Blue narrow strip too dark to use.-- Reason for including inch and centimeter lines is unclear.-- Small finger ring looks nice but too small to be useful.When a child uses a reading strip, it needs to cover the entire line so that kids are reading a phrase at a time. Reading a word or two at a time, as with the finger ring reading guide, does nothing to promote fluency. I would not use this with a learning or struggling reader.The large reading strips all have good coloration for reading. It's easy to see the letters beneath the plastic. Of the small reading strips, the white, yellow, orange, and pink give good visibility. The green, blue, and red are too dark. The letters are difficult to read. So of the 18 pieces here, 13 of them are useful for reading instruction.Adding measurements to the guides seems like an afterthought and is not useful. The numbers clutter the page. I will cut this part off if it proves to be a distraction.

Really help kids read and stay focused. Also keeps them from skipping lines and words. The best thing that is tried and true. I used them in school and now I use it to help the kids I tutor.
