I initially borrowed a tool from the auto parts store however it was one long, solid piece of steel. This tool made the job much much easier, not only to remove the tension from the belt tensioner, but also to get at the mounting bolts of the water pump I was replacing. The amount of time and aggravation it saved me was well worth the price!

Made pulling the U Belt easy to install new alternator. Nice hard case. Now I can change belt in my two other house hold cars.

I didn't need a special tool because you could move the tensioner with a regular long breaker bar. Now with my new car, the engine compartment is quite cramped. I don't need to change the belt yet, but I did some experimenting with this kit. The breaker bar I used previously is not going to work this time. The long flat bar with the accompanying flat-as-can-be ratchet wrench gets in there fine. I can already see a few other places where it will come in handy.The plastic case could use a minor upgrade. They should mold the words TOP & BOTTOM on the respective sides. If it's opened upside down, everything falls out, as the compartments do not have any friction to hold the parts in. Ask me how I know.

As a person who in his youth had gone so far as to stack wrenches to get the tensioner off out of desperation, a set like this would have been heaven sent.Now I'm a grown man and have more tools than I need. But I know what it's like to HAVE to "do it yourself" because the struggle is real. This set gives you so much more than you'll ever need to replace the belt. If you don't have a lot of tools this kit ensures you have whatever you'll need to do the job...and, hey if you need to borrow some tools out of this kit for other things, you can!The quality of the set is great, the bar stock is thick, the sockets and adapters solid...even the ratchet mechanism (pawl, gears etc) seems like decent quality without a lot of slop or big gaps between clicks. I'm not saying it's tool truck quality - only because I haven't tested it to that degree - but you're most likely not making a living with these tools either.Solid buy and it even has a nice storage case which a lot of "sets" can't say. Pull the trigger on this one, it's good.

This is a nice kit. The box keeps everything in it's place. It is pretty thorough with the serpentine belts I have removed. The ratcheting wrench is a great addition. I do think that the primary pull handle should have been longer, but I can put a cheater pipe on it for those stubborn belt tensioners.
