I stock our wheel throwing classroom with these. They last at least a year of heavy, HEAVY use so that's good enough for me!

I especially like the size, which makes it easy to use on the inside of a pot and on the edge. It fits well in my hand and holds plenty of water. They are easy to clean and dry.

These sponges came vacuum sealed and getting them to take their original shape and size was an ordeal. The package says to just soak them in water for 5-10 minutes, but I left any of them soaking overnight so see little to not difference in half of them. I massaged them, poked them, and tried to manually fluff them to no avail. It took 2-3 days of soaking and stirring to get the majority of them to size, and even after almost a week of soaking one of them, it just failed to inflate completely, leaving half of the single sponge completely flat still. That is not to mention the sponges have little bits and pieces hanging off them. For simple craft projects, these are ok, but I personally would not order these again for wheel throwing.

After soaking, these vacuum packed sponges come to life. Perfect for cleaning my horse's tack and my leather boots.

Pros:Everyday Use: I use these sponges daily for various tasks like working with light and dark clay, wiping away glaze, and general cleanup. They rinse out well, so I don’t worry about residue contaminating my next project.Great Value: The price point is fair, especially for the quantity. I appreciate that I can replenish my supplies without breaking the bank.Versatile Applications: Beyond pottery, I’ve found them useful for wetting envelopes, cleaning glue spills, and other craft-related tasks.Good Size and Comfort: The sponges are easy to handle and hold plenty of water, making them ideal for wheel throwing and detail work.Cons:Shed and Crumble: A few users have noted that these sponges can shed or crumble more than they’d like, which can be messy during pottery work.Need to Soak: They arrive vacuum-packed and flattened, so you need to soak them in water to get them back to their normal size, which can be inconvenient if you need them right away.

These are the same ones you can get at pottery supply stores. I use these everyday on light and dark clay, wipe away glaze, and general clean up. They rinse out really well so I don’t worry about residue contaminating my next project.

I'm using these for pottery and have found that they shed/crumble too much for my liking. I'll be looking for something else that doesn't leave a mess behind.
