I'm into old school 35mm photography. I want to do some night sky (long exposure) shots. I needed a shutter release cable and ordered this 1. It won't release the shutter after firing. Total junk.

I like the length this release gives me to work on my old folding cameras because the sighting eyepiece is on the front of the lens so I would have to shoot them from the front of the camera.The action is smooth and it is a short twist that lets me adjust between push then release by letting off and push to lock then release by depressing the base ring.I very much like this product.

You need these things for large format photography but I consider them single use products.If you don't loose them the plastic quickly separates from the metal ends and the thing stops working.I try to buy red ones so maybe I will notice it on the ground if I drop itTonight I am going to take it to the hackerspace and add some heat shrink tubing over the plastic/metal joint to see if that will prolong its life.⭐⭐⭐ is my base rating for a product which is fully functional and fulfills its promises

I was very surprised to see that my new Sony RX10M4 camera came with an old fashioned threaded shutter button. I haven't seen a cable release shutter in years. No battery, no meter, no LEDs, nothing to go wrong, just push the plunger to take a photo. It works with a tripod to keep vibration to a minimum.

So far this has been very reliable. The locking mechanism feels a little sticky. I use on my Zenza Bronica S2A and it fits perfectly
