The original lasted 30 years, so time will tell if this one will last as long. Well guess what? This one crapped out in just over 1 month. Left me stranded so I am changing this product to 1 star. Having to crawl under my truck once again in cold weather to re-replace this faulty product.

Installed in 2004 Ford 7.3 Powerstroke diesel engine. Quit working and started tripping circuit breakers in shop. Product is NOT compatible with this engine.

I put it on. Had a line splitter hooked up so I could read the amperage it was drawing. It read at far fewer amps than the original factory heater on my truck from the start. While checking the short 10 gauge extension cord I had it hooked up to that I’ve always used, it completely shut down. After cussing and checking all breakers I figured forget it. I left it plugged up all night and had to fight to get the truck to hit at all the next morning. Glow plugs are out and this was easier to install in the moment but still help me get going. I hope it was just a defect and not all of them are like that. It seems to be well made and had a perfect amount of resistance before installing. I did add the proper amount of coolant back and even purged the system to get rid of bubbles. So I know it was submerged. Just don’t know how it burnt up that quick.
