For me the attraction to own a wide mouth fermentation jar was to have easy access in removing my fruit sack and my purchase proves to be immensely valuable for my hobby. I love that it’s extremely easy to clean and sanitize but also has the capacity to ferment 1 1/2 gallons leaving room for foaming. Reasonably priced with various functions it’s a great buy that will enhance anyone’s experience with wine making.

I started making my own mead and these are perfect. The seals are and airlock are nice quality. Plenty of room if you're making a small batch with fruits. I expect to be purchasing more in the future.

I use 2 jars to make two different meads from the same batch of honey. Good purchase and good tool for drink crafting.

These worked well for making 1 gallon batches of mead with plenty of headspace. I liked the measurement marks on the side and it made it easy to fill.

I really like these jars, I bought them for winemaking. They're a great size for a one gallon batch, and they're nice and beefy too. The lids fit snugly, and they seem just as durable and heavy duty as the jars. Sometimes the plastic lids that come with glass containers seem so flimsy, but that's not the case here. Even the rubber sealing ring has a little tab to make it easier to remove, it's all well thought out. I also really appreciate the measurements in metric and imperial units. Both get thrown around so much in winemaking, it's nice to have both options.Yeah, I like just about everything, except...One of the jars has this two inch long defect wrapping around one of the side corners. It looks like a bubble got worked into the glass in the molding process. It doesn't leak or anything, but it does make me nervous, with the whole "internal stresses" thing. I'd hate to have this thing blow up on me because I got it a little too hot or cold. Honestly, I probably would have done a return, had I not already put the first jar to use. Oh well. I still like the jars, but I'll probably just use the second one for emergencies.
