I rated 4 stars because some of the cane is split and broken, making a scratchy, rough seat in places. I may figure out how to varnish and sand it smoother...

Loved this tops repair a set of cabinet doors in our motorhome! It came in a roll that was easy to measure and cut. No shreds, cut evenly. Glued easily to a thin wood backing and made our repair a success. Looks better than the original louvered doors!

We used this to create a revamped look to our drab wood grain cabinets. We tried to copy the style of something we saw on social media. The material does the trick! It's easy to cut but the only concern we have is that as soon as you cut it the material is very sharp if frayed. But I think thats just the nature of this particular material anyway.

I love this rattan. IMPORTANT, make sure you follow the directions on the listing to soak the rattan in water for 10 minutes before unrolling or cutting. Before I soaked it (before I read the directions) I unrolled it to make sure the length was good for the project I had in mind. Unrolling before soaking make the rattan vulnerable, it unrolled with ease after soaking. I did flatten the rattan under weighted items for 24 hours to make sure it kept its shape. Also, I was able to cut the rattan in half to use for my project and didn’t experience any fraying. I did use glass backing behind the rattan for support, so I can’t say for certain if I had stapled the rattan to the furniture piece, but speculating I think it would be just as stable. 10/10, would order again.

I ordered this to repair a chair for a friend's kitchen chair. Watched a YouTube video and tackled the job. You definitely need to soak the cane before putting it into the chair, but this was very sturdy and worked great for the repair. The spline I ordered was a bit too big, but ended up using staples along with it and since it was underneath, no one sees it anyway. Even the manufacturer used staples putting it together. This is an art that isn't done too much anymore, but it is doable if you have patience and the tools. I needed my friend's help because didn't have wooden wedges to hold the reed spline in place at times. But it was fun and I felt very accomplished after the task was complete. The cane was very good and I highly recommend it!
