Ordered (5) 1/2” end mills. Shank and cutting diameter is .471. Will not fit in any of the R8 collets at the shop.Would not recommend purchasing!

Full disclaimer, I was machining steel that was above average hardness. That said, I went through all 5 bits in about 30 minutes and didn’t get my job done. There are four cutting edges at the bottom and they broke off about 1 min after each other. Could still use with 3,2,1 cutting edges but got less effective. The. Time to replace. Just very brittle and not durable

I needed a inexpensive 1/2" end mill on a job in a rotary table that has consumed a couple of more expensive cutters from the work piece coming loose from being fixed down . I did break one of these cutters from the fault of the set up , but not the fault of the cutter . Finished the job after fixing set up .
