- What's the function of coating? Is there a difference between different coatings?
Precise coating can better reduce the refraction of light, thereby providing a clearer image. Most of the monocular on the market have only the outermost lens coated with a single-layer coating, while the 8 pieces of glass in the CAMMOO monocular have been coated with a multi-layer coating process.
- It seems that most monocular use FMC. Is your SMC better than FMC?
Yes. SMC (Super Multi-coated) lens has significant improvements in both color fidelity and brightness and the elimination of flare and ghost images. It provides anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces, which brings 10% higher light transmission than FMC.
- Is the lens made of optical glass?
Yes, and we use Grade A optical glass from Germany. This material has added a large amount of metal oxides and rare earth elements, and has been forged through dozens of processes, which bring a more high-definition and professional light transmission effect.
- Why is the number of optical lenses inside this monocular different from other monoculars?
CAMMOO lens adopts an optical structure of 8 elements in 4 groups, and most of other monoculars have a structure of 6 elements in 3 groups, and our clarity is higher.
- Why is this eyepiece and prism size different from other telescopes?
CAMMOO Monocular adopts 24mm eyepiece + 20mmBAK4 prism, others are 20mm eyepiece + 16mmBAK7 prism, so our field of view is larger and more comfortable.
- What are the characteristics of the casing material of this monocular compared to other monoculars?
The density of PPS plastic steel we use will be higher than that of other monoculars ABS. The optical stability and drop resistance are better.

The photo was taken from about 150 feet away. The sharpness should improve using a tripod. I have to say that it exceeded my expectations for such an inexpensive monocular.

Using a tripod for stability and the included monocular to cell phone attachment, I took this photo of a Red-Tailed Hawk at 20 yards. The second photo is from the same location using only the zoom on my cell phone. The black circle is where the hawk was located prior to this shot.The set up of the phone, adapter, monocular and tripod was slow/cumbersome. I could miss the shot. However, I’m very pleased with this monocular. Beats the $$$ of a good camera.

I live by the sea & like to see who's floating by sometimes :) I like that the lens cover is attached at the far end but wish they had done that on the eyepiece end so there's no chance of losing it.

Crisp opticals, easy viewing with or without glasses, lightweight for long nature walks, is supposed to be water proof so great to take on the boat.

The image was not particularly sharp or bright. In order to carry something this bulky and heavy, you'd expect good rewards when it came to viewing. Not so. I was disappointed with the overall image. Not worth carrying something this bulky. I'll continue to use my little monocular that does good enough and easily fits in your pocket. Returned.
