Ordered this for a suction machine like the ones at the hospital for removing phlegm. Worked perfectly

It does perform as advertised!Open circuit is >12volts.It delivers 4A at 11.3volts and overload trips at about 6.5A and 10.5volts.At 3A and the supply drops too 11.68volts.After 1hr running at 4amps, the voltage remained at ~11.3 and temperature settled at 60C.The 12v/8A version works similarly and equally well, 11.2v@8A and overload trips at ~10.6A.

I bought this to supply my network switch, it only needed 2amps, so I thought 4amp adapter will be a good decision thinking that this will last a very long time.my network switch started to having issues recently as in no Internet or LAN traffic every day. Swapped with another generic adapter, turns out this was defective and short lived.

Worked great for building a 12V wiring harness to run tractor electronics in the house!

This is ok for LED light and anything else that doesn't need a steady voltage. At no load it was putting out 12.38V and a 4A (50% load) it was down to 11.68V. Not great.

I purchased two of these 8A adapters after trying a different (cheaper) brand that got very hot with 50% of the rated load. In my quest to find new adapters, I came across these and was delighted to see the reviews that said the adapter remained quite cool even at higher loads. The fact that it's UL listed is also nice (the other brand wasn't).When they arrived, I was excited to try them out. I am using them to power a single strip of 12v LED lights that max out at 5A at full brightness. At 8A, this adapter should be well within its rated spec and should not get hot at all. Consistent with the other reviews, the adapter did not get hot. It was actually barely warm at all and this made me very happy. On the other hand, as I went to check the barrel connector, it was insanely hot. The rubber(?) around the connector was too hot to touch with my fingertips for more than a second and as I got a little closer, I noticed a not so good smell as if something was melting. Upon visual inspection, there didn't seem to be any melting damage, but the fact that it was so hot was a no go for me as it is to be installed in a plastic housing and I didn't want the plastic to melt, more fumes being created from hot plastics/rubber, and/or risk potential fire of some kind (however small a risk that may be). The connector became this hot even with just half the load of the LED strip (2.5A).I contacted the seller/manufacturer and to inquire if these connectors are rated for the 8A that the adapter is and also explained my experience with the very hot connectors under just 2.5A load. Their response was that the heat was normal (no it's not) and that my 2.5A load is "relatively large" (again, no it's not).Out of frustration, I purchased a set of metal barrel connectors rated for 10A. Those arrived and I connected them and tested them with 2.5A load and the full 5A load. The metal connector barely became warm.In summary - great adapter, but I fully recommend you buy your own female barrel connectors because the ones they include are no good unless you expect to only use a tiny, tiny fraction of the 80% of 8A this adapter is rated for.

Having had several cheap power supplies fail prematurely in the past, I'd rather pay more for one that will last. The description and good reviews led me to choose this one. I feel good about it so far. It's larger and heavier (13 oz) than my other ones and feels solidly constructed. It's working great for my under counter LED light strips. It's replacing a 2A supply that would get very hot. I went with a higher amperage rating (8A) so it wouldn't have to work so hard and this one doesn't even get warm after several hours of useThe voltage measures at a steady 12.25v without load and does not fluctuate at all on the meter. It has a green LED indicator that's not too bright (which is good) and a large ferrite EMI ring on the output. It also comes with a screw terminal attachment, which I don't need but will come in handy for future DIY projects. I'm feeling very optimistic about this purchase.

I absolutely love this little adapter! I was having a hard time finding a replacement adapter for my mini car booster battery pack. None of the adapters I saw were the right amperage or the right pin connector. Then I saw this one! They have all the different possible amperages, and there is an adapter plug so that you can wire the old pin connector to the new adapter! It was super easy to pull the old wire from the broken adapter and attach the black and red leads to the adapter plug. As easy as hooking up a speaker! Now my battery booster pack is back in action.

Was looking for a UL-listed power supply with enough amperage and this checked the box. I'm using this to power a 5V LED strand using a 75W 12V to 5V DC-DC adapter and it works great. Would purchase other SMPSs from this company in the future.

I bought this to replace the power supply for some in-cabinet LEDs. It measured just over 12 V with my multimeter, as spec'ed. I had to cut off the plug and splice the wire into the existing wiring leading to the LED switch. The cable on the output side had two coatings: the exterior one that bound the two wires together plus the colour-coded insulation which encased both wires. This made it easy to splice with the existing cables with the right polarity. This was one of the cheaper power supplies I found on Amazon, it had over a hundred good ratings, it works well (there is a 2-3 lag between throwing the switch and the lights turning on, but that's not an issue for me) and is UL and CE certified. It was a good option for me.
