I live in NY, and it's deep Winter, now......I hate drafts and am always cold......these thin, large, super light-weight sheets, immediately direct your own heat and moisture back to you, block drafts, and when tucked around the edges, are like a seamless cocoon! Treated with normal use, they are durable and last a long time. I discovered these when my Acupuncturist puts one over me when i am resting, as the needles are doing their work........I was amazed. I have not used the gold side, yet, which is meant to fend off heat and Sunlight in warmer months, but will update if and when i do, try that out......the silver side, used toward the body is for heating.

This bundle is a great value. I picked these up while building an Emergency kit for a camping trip I was planning. However, things to the value of the bundle as able to use the extras to build lit emergency kits for my Vehicles as well.

I've seen a few similar mylar blankets in survival packs and first-aid kits but these are the largest emergency blankets I have seen. These are as big as a queen bed (60" x 80"). They're tough. I deliberately tried to poke through one with my thumb and it held. It holds the heat well and I'm sure it would keep you warm if you were stuck in a snowstorm. With its toughness and waterproofing you could use it as a poncho, a ground cloth, or even as a pup tent. Impressive. If you use the coupon they are competitively priced with other out there at just over $1 each. I got the pack of 12 so I'll put a few in each of my vehicles just 'in case'. They're reusable .. you can shake them out and fold or wad them back up and stuff them back in the little pouch they came out of .. not easy, not pretty, but doable. Recommended.

Always be prepared...and having these on hand is simply smart, especially while traveling. They take up no space, they're good for warmth, water, and wind protection, and in the right light, can be used to signal for help.I use these to winterize my dog's crate. Rather than purchase an expensive doghouse, I wrap the crate in these as the UNDERMOST layer, to reflect and keep my dog's body heat inside, and this has worked well for years. (I crawled inside to make sure.)I highly recommend purchasing and keeping these in your vehicle, and replacing after use.

We always put these in each family members car, and in every backpack and bug out bag. These are essential, maybe even more important than the first aid kit. They one time saved our lives when it was freezing and we were wet and stranded. I got these to replace our old ones that we opened and used as part of our bear bag system for backpacking.I opened one of these 12 packets to compare to what we are used to. The gold color is definitely unique! I could feel the instant warmth when wrapping it around me, the same as all emergency blankets. What I don’t like about these is the vacuum sealing on each packet. It takes up much more room than the traditional blankets which are tightly packed inside a plastic bag. We will need to remove the vacuum sealing and place these into small plastic bags. The vacuum sealing is also a big safety issue… If you are stranded and don’t have a knife to cut these open, it’s going to be difficult to get them out! The whole point of these is safety, and this somewhat counters it.What I do like, is the price! This is a great deal for a pack of 12. It is worth it to get these and remove them all from the packaging and put them in individual small plastic bags.

This 12 pack of "space blankets" has a ton of utility for outdoor folk. Each one can work to keep you protected from the elements and help to retain body heat. They are thin and flimsy, just like all the others on the market. Use normal precautions to prevent tearing the mylar and you will be fine using them as intended.

I started backpacking over the past year, including in some of the colder months. I wanted to carry these in my pack for multiple reasons. If a branch falls and rips my tent, I may be able to use one as a bivy or perhaps cover the tear with the Mylar. If I need a ground cover, I can use this. If my gear gets wet, I can use this to help keep me dry as I sleep in a damp sleeping bag. The possibilities are endless.I love that here are vacuum sealed. They take up so little space and are very lightweight that they are a no-brainer to take.I got a 12 pack of gold and also plan to keep one in each car. If someone breaks a window this could be wrapped around the door and the door closed to keep the weather out temporarily. Or if someone gets stranded in the winter, they could stay a lot warmer until helpcomes.I also like that these are larger than the average Mylar emergency blanket.Five stars for peace of mind.
