Port 0 and port 2 constantly reset causing major headaches.had to rebuild a 200tb array due to this card. Changed to a different card. Had newest firmware and drivers.

Advertised as IT mode, but mine came in IR. Just used instructions found online to flash using sas3flash to 16.00.12.00 and good to go. Added a baby Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX with some zip ties to keep it cool.

The HBA came in IR mode. I flashed it to IT mode via an EFI bootable USB stick. The benchmark image is for an attached Seagate SAS 20T hdd under linux. You might get better results with 8x but it's certainly usable at 4x. Anyway, I'm happy with this HBA.

Good controller card. Used in a Proxmox server with PCI passthrough for a virtual machine without issue. However after 10 months, the card unexpectedly died causing the entire server to be unable to boot. Will be replacing.

The card arrived promptly. in a sealed box. I checked firmware on it and was current. Unfortunately when i tried using the card it proved problematic. It would hang going into ROM config utility. it would also only see some of the drives. Os kernel was reporting firmware issues. i confirmed that my cables are fine using a different card. I spent much time testing the card on multiple servers and they all experienced issues. Ended up returning it and buying LSI Broadcom version

Works out of the box with Proxmox. All I need. A bit pricy though.

I installed it on my system to connect an SFF-8644 JBODI no longer have a CD-ROM, so the provided optical disk was useless. I had to find seller website 10tek to be able to download drivers. The installation process was fairly standard, but not straightforward. Please provide clear URL where to download drivers. CD-ROM is just obsolete!

Using TrueNAS Core/FreeNAS under ESXi v6.7 with PCIe passthrough. Working exactly as desired. Six 6 TB Hitachi He8 drives in ZFS "striped mirrors".EDIT: Worked for over a year, though only on weekends for backup jobs. I've pushed a lot of data through this card, using iSCSI and SMB. It's been retired (for x16 SAS/SATA ports) but worked like a charm.

The product in itself is fine. It does not take a lot of space in thickness (1 pci slot thick overall). The only problem I encountered is that the firmware loaded on the card from factory was LSI sas2008 version P20.0.0.0, which is not the latest. Version P20.0.0.0 is known to cause problems with some file systems, notably zfs (unraid, freenas, etc). What is surprising is that the latest firmware available for this chip (9211-8i) is P20.0.7.0 (as of December 2020), and dates back to March 2016..... So I would have expected the card to come loaded with it...Anyways, unRaid was throwing a lot of hard drives errors when writing to disk with the card in the original factory P20.0.0.0 firmware, but once I upgraded to P20.0.7.0, all errors magically went away, and everything has been perfectly fine since. I haven’t seen a single error from unRaid since. For anybody reading this, and wondering how to upgrade: just follow online instructions to flash a Dell H200 or H310 to IT mode. There are plenty of guides out there. Just make sure you get the latest firmware from Broadcom’s website though (as some guides offer files, but are quite dated). Now that everything is working fine with the card, I have 0 complaints: it does what it says on the box, and just works. The fact that it’s an LSI chip really helps, and is actually a much wanted thing: it is widely compatible with most/all OS systems without the need for finicky drivers and endless web searches: you just plug it in, and it works. Now let’s see how long the card will last: The LSI chip isn’t the only thing on the card: the build quality, and the peripherals selection around the chip are usually what plays a bigger role in a card’s longevity... but so far so good for me. (and I have not stumbled upon a 10Gtek card early failure online so far either, so I am optimistic for the future).
