I purchased this filter to use with an IMX290 based guide camera and it works great at cutting the star bloat. I purchased it on sale for $8 and cost was my number 1 criteria for selecting guide cam filter.

Takes enough of the streetlights out for me to be able to see well. Makes the moon take on a green hue which shows more detail.

These help my tone down the brightness of the moon, Venus, and Jupiter. They fit well on 1¼ inch eyepieces. They come in a nice plastic case.

Blocks 355nm light and does block 808nm light but passes the 1064nm line.Makes this a useless filter for my application. First picture with filter, second one with out filter. As you can see only blocks the 808nm line.

Returned. Completely useless on my setup for astro imaging. I tried a few different targets and settings but the filter introduced multiple artifacts on all of the captures. I didnt try it for visual usage as I do imaging 99% of the time. I had low expectations due to price, but it was totally useless for me.

Fits great & seems to be well-made compared to other similar filters that are ultra-costly.

I ordered this filter lens for my husband, who has been doing astrophotography for over a decade as a hobby. He said that it is decent quality for a plastic lens, but not very helpful for his needs. He noticed a small amount of shading, but nothing significant. He thinks they might be of use to different astronomy enthusiasts, maybe students or beginners. They are easy to attach and fit well, though. They're just not suited for more seasoned astronomers.

As an amateur / beginner, I thought this was a great item to pick up. The price is very reasonable. I consider it a good value, and it is very interesting to see how it can help enhance certain features. (I am mostly viewing the moon, as a beginner.)This is not a poorly made item, it's not made of plastic parts or something lower quality than other filters I've used, and I would say it fits in well with the rest of my setup. It seems to be well built and is easy to clean with a microfiber cloth. As long as I don't put my fingerprints on it, there is no distortion of the image.I am going to say, I do have some concerns based on another review showing that it lets in some IR light. That's unfortunate, and I do wonder why that would be the case. I know that other review was pretty terse, but it does look like that person knows what he/she is doing!I also wish it came with a better case, but at this price, I understand why not.Overall, great for amateurs / beginners, and maybe suitable for more serious uses -- but with the caveat that you should make sure it's working right for you, especially with the concerns raised by the other reviewer with the spectrometer.
