Perfect kit for repairing Holley style carburetor fuel bowl threads. My carburetor was over $1000 nearly 30 years ago when the engine was built and dyno tuned. This kit is perfect for repairs to the fuel bowl threads. If you’ve ever worked on these carbs, you know these threads can be easily damaged and usually your only option is to replace the carb! Not anymore. I wish the kit had included the drill but, but I had one in my tool box anyways. Just a few words of advice… be absolutely certain the right sized bit is used and stop drilling as soon as the hole is done. Do not “wallow” out the hole at all! Use lots of lube both while drilling and tapping for the insert. If you’ve never used a thread repair kit, study on how to do it first. It’s not hard, you just must be precise in every part of the repair. Good luck in your use of this kit. It’s worth every penny.

If you've ever had to performance tune a Holley 4 barrel carburetor you know how many times you have to remove and reinstall the float bowls, especially the front. You also must know that the body of the carburetor is aluminum. The threads are a weak point with the excessive on/off of the bowl they can be damaged and strip easily. Well I've had this carb since 1992 and several cam and intake configurations later and this carb has had it's share of servicing. Well, recently during a tuning session I striped two of the threaded holes and needed this helicoil to repair them. Did the job perfectly. So don't get rid of the carb, rethread it.
