I like to wear the waist part of pants lower than the actual waist area on my body, in fact prefer low-rise or hiphuggers but if I have a favorite pair of pants - like the fabric, color or pattern etc. but maybe a little to short when pulled all the way up and fastened at my waist (I'm 5'-9") , I like to lower them and sometimes because I am wider in the hip area than the waist they don't close as easily and these button extenders can be the easy solution - I wear long loose shirts with them below the crotch so NOBODY KNOWS. You can even piggyback them for securing twice the opening gap. . Just what I needed and expected and they worked perfectly for my needs.

My 36" jeans were a little tight and 38" is too loose. These work great and look good too.

The regular button style has a rigid loop attached to a button, making it not very flexible. Elastic would have been much more useful. The jeans button style has a silicone band attached, which stretches well and is comfortable. The button itself is just right for jeans and pants, but too large for other applications.
