These cat whiskers looked cool, but they were heavy. They added so much weight to my 50 lb. recurve that my arrows corkscrewed when fired, dropped below the target and lost all accuracy. I moved them up and down the string and trimmed them down to the point that they were no longer affective as "silencers", but the loss of distance, corkscrewing and loss of accuracy persisted. I guess the bow and arrows would need to be retuned to the silencers. I trashed them and ordered a different type. Didn't work for me.

I’ve been buying this brand, the yellow packaged whisker string silencers, for about 20+ years and love them. Unlike other brands and cheaper brands these whiskers last for hundreds of rounds. In fact they last so long that the only time I’ve ever needed to replace them is after several years of use. The cheaper brands break apart and the whiskers become shorter with nearly every shot some not even lasting 50 shots. I’ve learned my lesson and am sticking with the yellow label whiskers. No more saving a few bucks as it’s just not worth it. Buy these and shoot away without worry. Not to mention this camo blend looks great on my recurve bow. And they take at least 70% of sound and vibration away. Performance is great and super easy to install as long as you have a few feet of serving string for installation.

First time I have used these, no instructions but like others have said"you tube", I messed up one set because I doubled them over thinking that was the way to achieve the 2.5" but being I used all 3 colors per whisker to get the camo it was way too thick and I had to cut them off. Speaking of camo, IT'S Not, mine came black, brown and a bright lime green, also shipping is very slow

If you prefer the cat whiskers over the other string silencers you can't go wrong buying these. I cut mine to about 1.25", just my preference, so from one length I can get three pieces. These are as good as any of the others I've bought/used so I am very happy. Tying them on isn't difficult. You can do an actual string tie or zip tie them on if that's more your speed. They work either way and feather out nicely after a few shots. Well worth the small cost.

Requires some patience to install. Check out Ryan K Sanpei on YouTube for a tutorial. This method allows you to slide silencers around on string to find best placement, and quietest shot, from your bow. As with most things, it comes down to personal preference, whether these or other silencers work best for you. The advantage to rubber whiskers is they won't wet out and become waterlogged if you're shooting/hunting in the rain like traditional fur silencers.
