The dials on the lid allow for ventilation or not, and the tools look great for scooping in the soil, poking holes for seeds, and lifting the seedlings out for replanting.

Alright, I thought starting a garden was going to be complicated, but this starter kit made me feel like a pro right out the gate. The trays are sturdy, not those flimsy plastic ones that crack when you so much as look at them. Filled them up with soil, dropped in my seeds, and the humidity dome did its magic. This is a great set for indoor gardening enthusiasts. It's perfect for growing plants at home. I add soil and seeds, then simply water them. It is not big and takes less space. They're thicker than the ones I bought before and don't warp easily. There are well-designed holes at the bottom that prevent water from pooling. In the past, when I grew plants, stagnant water always led to rotten roots. After using this tray, the excess water I added stayed right in the base. After a week, I was happy to notice that some of the seeds had started to sprout. With the Dome covered, I could see water beading on the inside walls, keeping the soil moist. And the matching plant labels that come with it I use to tell different vegetables apart are inserted on the side of the tray. I think it won't be long before all the seeds sprout.
